    Okay I have not a clue what I am doing all I know is I want those hats in the kawaii mod yet I can not figure out how to get the mod up and running even though I have download your mod and the other persons mod and I still just end up with the original hates. If it helps I am playing on a MacBook and the coding shows up as literally gibberish in boxes because of how apple reads coding plus the icon for each the files are blank piece of paper. someone help I just want my girl to look semi cute

    I'm having trouble installing this on a Mac. When I open the game, I get this error and the game closes by itself.
    [SMAPI] The game failed unexpectedly: System.InvalidCastException: Specified cast is not valid.

    So I tried unpacking the xnb file and I got a json file and a png. When I open the json file, it doesn't look like the picture you provided. It looks like:

    "content": {
    "0": "Bear Hat/Beary nice. (Achievement: A Complete Collection)/false/true",
    "1": "Black Cat Hat/Almost feels like real cat hair. (Achievement: 1mil)/false/true",

    I suppose this only happens on Macbook. Do you know how to fix this? Thanks.

    It's not working, my hats are using the original names and description. I'm using the SDV 1.11.

      I'm using SDV 1.11 as well with no issue on my end.. You did extract the file and then place the hats.xnb in the Content\ Data folder and overwrite, correct? I will check into this as soon as I get home, at work right now...

      Apparently this doesn't affect the hats I already own. Those I bought after installing the mod work just fine. I think it's a good idea to put a warning in the description stating that only hats bought after mod installation will be affected.

      I see.. Thats unfortunate.. but it does make sense.. I've had this installed since I started my new game, which is why I have seen no issues. Thank you for letting me know. I will update the description immediately..

      It's not that bad. I used the CJB Item Spawner to spawn new hats, replacing the old ones.
      Thanks for the mod and for the quick answer.

    Just so you know, you can make it so the hats don't replace the vanilla hats by taking those names and descriptions and adding them to the end of that data .xnb file by continuing the numbering. When you do this, you will either need to edit one of the stores so that people can buy these new hats, or use an item spawner. This is how you add more hats to the game, like you would with hair or shirts

      I didn't think about about that.. thats interesting to know.. Though my purpose for this mod was just to change the data to match the Kawaii Hats mod, (which replaces the vanilla hats), I will take this into consideration for future editing. Thank you
