Feature
Simply enough, this mod desaturates ingame assets!
It does this in a non-destructive manner by adding a desaturated and transparent image as overlay using Content Patcher.

All official languages in regards of visuals are included!
These include English, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Italian, French, Korean, Turkish and Hungarian.

With the config file you can choose between five different strength levels of how desaturation should be done (default is 20).
This is done by reusing a single desaturated and transparent image (for each asset) and adding them ontop of eachother several times.
(This caused a decrease in brightness so I've increased brightness a bit in each image).
There is a limitation to this method as transparancy works multiplicatively and will quickly hit a roof (as well increasing code and load time).

Notice!
Currently only vanilla Stardew Valley is supported!

It would probably still work with smaller irregularites with mods that only do recoloring.
If lightness or darkness is very different in mod visuals it might cause poor contrast.
Otherwise it will look weird with any mod that replaces vanilla assets with custom shapes/assets.

As this mod is heavily code-dependant, each level of strength adds about 4 seconds of load time (for my computer). So choosing a strength of 50 will increase load time with about 20 seconds.
Depending on hardware it may be more.

Future plans
  • Slim down mod size by removing unneccessary space (mostly in regards to localized image assets that reuse whole assets)
  • Add config for a higher and lesser desaturated versions (if wanted by users; preliminary desaturation of 30 % and 10 %; Leave a comment to let me know)
  • Eventual mod compatibility (if other mod creators allow me use of their assets)
  • Find a way to desaturate in a generic way (thus not needing permission in the point above)
  • Look into maybe making a ENB-version (see point above)

Bugs
If you find any discrepancies or that I've missed any assets. Let me know!
