You only upload the portrait but not the sprite. You should upload the sprite too.

I found a sprite that matches well with the portraits. https://community.playstarbound.com/resources/wizard-romanceable-sprite-chaekal-rizum.5638/    you'll need an XMB file converter though.

I saw the description and I replaced the vanillaWizard.png with this and it replaced his sprite with the new images (Which was hilarious) and not his portrait. I was thinking about changing his portrait in the game files under Stardew Valley > Content > Portraits but the mod is a .png file not an .xnb like everything else in that folder. I was wondering if I could get some help with this, if anybody was able to properly install it. Sorry I'm just getting into modding again after years without a gaming pc. Thanks!

      hey!!
i was having the same issue as you and found this video on YT that was pretty helpful :https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HYyiHE9BRMM&t=398s
i have no knowledge in modding whatsoever but these steps were really easy to follow!
i used the .png file from the mod and renamed it to Wizard.png, downloaded the program in the video, unpacked the original .xnb to .png, replaced the original unpacked .png image with the one i just renamed, then packed again so that i could swap the files in Content->Characters and Portraits.
you could also backup the original .xnb if anything goes wrong, really important step xD
i could share my own file, but im really afraid of messing up others pcs :"<
      hope it helps man!

Can you share it? I tried to unpack the xnb but it doesn't work
