YOU NEED TO BUY OR CHEAT IN THE HAND MIRROR TO SEE AND EQUIP THE HAIR: You can buy it from Pierre or you can write fs_add_mirror in the smapi console window. DUPLICATE HAIRSTYLES SMAPI ERROR: This usually means you have not updated the mod in a good few months, deleting the folder completely then redownloading the latest update usually fixes it.
OTHER BUGS AND ISSUES: This is only a content pack, and I work with the code provided to me by the Fashion Sense mod. I will fix any issues on my end, but if the mod only stops working after SDV/FS updates (weird overlays, flickering, disappearing body mods, multiplayers problems, etc), please report the issue(s) to the main Fashion Sense mod page! Thank you for your understanding!
NO COMPATIBILITY WITH BODY MODS: This is also something I cannot do, as I have 120+ animations (with more I'm working on), and if I do it once, I'd risk having people ask or demand to edit this-or-that hair to match this-or-that body mod, and that isn't feasible.
I've just installed the mod and I am *thrilled* at how good the styles look. Super easy to use, no issues whatsoever -- and I'm particularly happy to see undercut styles available, which is what brings me to your comments today (aside from the gushing.) I looked through your documentation but I couldn't find any notes on whether or not you might consider requests for new styles, so forgive me if this is an overstep:
Would you consider creating a long-haired undercut style that's shaved on one side, similar to Cambria's hair from the Metalcore goes Cottagecore mod? I would ascend, honestly.
Again, many thanks. So happy to see my farmer's bangs bobbing when she runs around now.
Thank you so much! :D I am working on some undercuts as well, and that's one style I had in mind to do, it just take a bit of time to draw the animation so it seats properly on the head. If I can't draw it in time for the upcoming (late) March update, it will be in the next one in June (I have little free time to draw so updates are every three months-ish).
Hi! I just came back after updating the mod, and I wasn't expecting the long-haired undercut to be in there until the next update, so there was some very happy screaming on my part last night. 😂 I just wanted to post a note to thank you for your hard work. I LOVE IT. So much. Thank you thank you.
Uh, well, no, it's a different kind of mod from Fashion Sense packs, but if you check my files, you can see a Shardust's Brighter Animated Hairstyles which is a version of the main file where all hair are a brighter grey/white so you can have lighter/pastel hair colors. Try it out!
This was the first hair mod that I added for FS and I think it might end up being the only one I use. Not only are the animations super smooth and cute, but you have so many afro and curly styles that other FS packs just don't have and I love and appreciate that attention to detail so much! Easily a must-have mod for any playthrough from now on.
Hello, i cannot use any other hair mods anymore since i started using yours, simply how much life it brings to the character! that said i already have this one for FS and i saw you have other animated hair mods on your page and got confused to whereas i can add them to my game or are they just other versions. Can you tell me which mods to get if i want the full updated version(s) of your work <3 thanks a lot
Hello! Thank you very much, I'm so happy you like my mod!
If you mean the optional files in this mod page, (Bright) and (Prismatic), they contain the same animated hair as the Main file; one allows pastel colors, the other makes the hair prismatic (colors keep cycling between hues like the Magic Hair Gel in game does to vanilla hair). All of the files in the page have the same hairstyles, only the way they are colored changes, and you can install 3 if you want.
If you mean the other hair mods in my profile page, one of them is for content patcher, only contains the custom hair I've drawn thus far (so 90% of them are in the main animation mod), but they are NOT animated, and you can only change the hairstyle at new game or at wizard's tower. The other FS mod is a porting of the afromentioned content patcher mod for those who prefer only using FS.
Wonderful mod, I never knew how much I needed bouncy hair in Stardew (‾◡◝) Hopefully I'm not asking this on the wrong page, as I know some issues are on Fashion Sense's end, but for one reason or another, the hairstyles are translucent, allowing the player's head to be visible? This is the only mod this happens with :-(
Thanks for downloading my mod! Happy you like it! :D If all hairstyles do this, it might be FS bugging so nothing I can do on my side, but I also have some hairstyles with buzzcut/undercut in their name which have slight transparent parts (thus partially showing the head underneat) to represent the semi-shaved look without it looking like a single block of color slapped on the head (or a block of dark brown like the vanilla game has). It's how I prefer to draw them. :)
Thank you for the reply, it indeed happens with all the hairstyles, and nobody else seems to have this problem on the Fashion Sense page, so I might be out of luck! But thank you anyhow!<3
You mean, like, Abigail, Sebastian, etc? No, this is only for the player character. There is no way to change the NPC's hair whenever like you would do the Farmer's with this mod, sorry!
I have used this mod. It's great. What I want to say is that it would be nice if npc's hair could also get an animation effect, but this is definitely not a simple workload.
Editing NPCs would indeed require a complex Framework like Fashion Sense, or manually redrawing the NPCs spritesheets to add hair animation through Content Patcher which would be very time consuming, for sure. Thanks for downloading my mod! :D
It's no bother! The main file does not but if you check the download tab and scroll down you can see an optional file called "Shardust's Prismatic Animated Hairstyles" which has ALL the hairstyles from the main mod, only they change colors like the Magic Hair Gel. You can add BOTH versions to the game so you can easily switch any hairstyle from normal to prismatic and back, and without having to buy the Magic Gel. :D
I included in my mod an edited version of one of your hair sprite. I did because it would render over the players custom body when using Curvy Girl mod. But, the user is still required to download your mod so everything works
Well, uh, it looks like a nice mod, but there is a slightly problem with how you set up the edited hair folder: The folder with the modified hair will overwrite the original one in my mod, which means people who stop using your mod but keep mine will have a hairstyle that doesn't look as it should because it was overwritten by yours and that can be confusing for both me and the user. Also, it's one thing to edit files for personal use (which I allow), but you should've asked permission before publishing the mod, and I can't just give the "go ahead" after the fact, it's a precedent that will only pave the way for future problems (for me). You did good work on the mod, but I kindly ask that you remove the edited hair from it. Thank you. :)
I'll remove it. Sorry, I was too anxious of working on this mod for like 30 hours and just wanted to go over it as soon as possible, it was my mistake of not asking for permission before the upload
Is there any possibility of having this edited hair as a compatibility somehow, without me uploading it in my mod? Because your hair renders over the shirt when using Curvy Girl's player body
Turns out the clipping isn't too noticeable, it was when I tested with another player body mod and on a previous shirt sprite I made that was offset higher. But on this current version I guess it's fine using the mod with no edit as it will clip the same as vanilla
I also fully removed the edited file from the mod. But it still looks good using your mod with no edits
Thank you for understanding, and I'm glad my mod can still work fine as is for your gameplay/mod. :) On the "compatibility" thing, you are not the first to ask, but this is also something I cannot do, as I have 120+ animations (with more I'm working on), and if I do it once, I'd risk having people ask or demand to edit this-or-that hair to match this-or-that body mod, and that isn't feasible. Also, I completely understand the "mod anxiety". Even after years I still get the jitters when it's time to update my mods, ahah! Don't be afraid of taking a break when it happens, having people appreciate your work is nice, but modding should be -fun for yourself- first and foremost. Have a good day/night! :)
Thank you for the update but sadly due to another mod causing conflict with your Fashion Sense, I had to switch to your other mod at https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/8138 which is the Non-Animated Content Patcher version of the same thing. Of course it can't replace FS but I want to keep the conflicting mod operational and this works. Speaking of which, may I ask you to also update your above linked 2023 Hair Mod too? It shouldn't be hard since it's static images and both 2 mods are your mods so with a little time spent, you may be able to update the 2023 version mod to 2025 version since this is New Years and your CP Hairs Mod need some love either.
...Yeah, I had plans to update that too, but life got in the way and I gave the animations priority, with what little free time I've had. :( I should be able to make an update to that soon, just need to finalize a few more things.
(Although, please don't say things like "oh it shouldn't be hard" etc. there are so many things that might stop people from working on their mods, however easy or difficult they appear to be (also it isn't just images, there's coding to be done, too).

Cant believe I didn't see that lol.

Tell me if you want it removed or edit anything. You can see on my Animated Zoologist Outfit mod
