It's a nice idea, but the "negative comfort" attribute overrides / 'nullifies'  the benefits of 5/5/5 "buffs everything" in so many cases:  working comfort (for example) can't be improved by adding these objects.    The biggest gain to working comfort comes from putting each piece of machinery into its own room. But, players can enjoy the objects  :)

Yes, that game limitation has never made sense to me.
Even if I work in a dreary cubefarm with no windows, a Peace Lily and picture of family should help.  There should be rapidly diminishing returns, but it should still count for something.  But the devs always made any negative in a space erase all positives.... and yet....  the work comfort bonus seems to help when crew are walking through a hall during their work hours between work locations, so these do provide benefit to crew that is difficult to notice.  If i'm reading the results right.

Of course, all us players want to keep workers glued to their stations, and have no comfortable hallway space between work stations, because walk time is wasted productivity.  Work comfort is impossible that way.  Maybe the devs made the game more realistic than I thought, and us players are being tyrants on our crew employees.  just having a nice hallway to a nice bathroom really can make a hard work day more relaxed, can't it?

Thanks for great reply. It's a new-player obscure mechanic that I thought deserved highlighting.

I'm nowhere near an optimal player, but I appreciate the base game's challenge of needing your mobile base to do so much inside a fixed area, and they keep adding new toys, forcing choice and trade-offs of functionality inside of the player's current space limits.

When SH came up with the item workbench to repair items, I asked in their steam forum why that feature couldn't have been embedded into some other workbench.  (No reply.)  It's not their job to make it too easy ;)     Now add in some deco mods (not talking against this one which is just a few items) because the stuff looks cool, and you're even more space constrained ;)

I found two work environments where a work buff can help: Control consoles and grow beds don't have a negative to work, so can be in the same room. So the chairs and tables will help there, and other mods which add wall art with a work buff.

SH game tips actually advise walling off factories on the other side of a spacesuit door, and I'm doing that in my current play-through. It really helps when a fire breaks out to not have any oxygen in the room, and I guess I'll sacrifice some working speed and occasional spacesuit fatigue to have less chance for a multi-facility disaster :)
