A version of 2.1 with Vanilla and Dungeon Sounds Overhaul music including Hun Lovaas - Skyrim Fan-Made Combat Music can be found in the optional files. Don't forget to activate the mod and delete "Hun Lovaas.esp."
Hmm, I'm assuming you mean turning Lorkhan into an addition instead of a vanilla replacer, so you'd still hear the vanilla music with it? I think that might prove to be a kinda huge task and I'm not sure how they would stylistically work together tbh.
I've reread this many times, using Vortex and not MO2 and could use some clarification- On installing, your detailed instructions on the Chapter II section (2.) are unclear to me-
Download Chapter II. Activate the mod in the left pane of MO2. In the right pane of MO2, navigate to the Archives tab. Find the Chapter II bsa, right click it, select "Extract..." and choose the Chapter II mod as the output. Double check that there is now a folder in Chapter II titled "Music." Delete "Chapter II - Soundtrack mod by Dreyma Music.esp" and "Chapter II - Soundtrack mod by Dreyma Music.bsa."
Where does a folder called "Music" need to be created? Is there a "Chapter II" Folder? Where should i find it? Sorry the rest of this is just so clear but for some reason this part isn't. Thanks for your help and your great mod!
Chapter II has the music folder in its bsa already, so just extract the bsa into the Chapter II folder! I’m not familiar w Vortex but the Chapter II “folder” is just the file in your load order in Vortex… sorry if I’m explaining horribly. Not sure if Vortex comes with a bsa extractor but you can use Cathedral Assets Optimizer instead if not.
Huh, okay... thank you for the prompt response! I'm excited to get your mod up and running properly.
So while there is no Chapter II folder anywhere, I have the "music" folder extracted from Chapter II's .bsa, where do i place it? Your instructions in the description say "Extract the included bsa into the Chapter II folder", which included bsa? Chapter II's? One More Music Merge's? What chapter II folder? I have both your mod and it installed and there is no such folder anywhere on my drive. Should i create one? If so, where?
Can you simply list the filepath directory for me? Sorry, I have never seen a mod ask a user to do this before. Is it possible to just include the file in your own mod's archive, formatted properly?
No, I can’t include it. My merge relies on the assets of other mods’ authors and including them here would be against some of their permissions. I can’t claim any of the assets as my own.
Like I said, I’m not familiar w how Vortex works and I don’t know your personal setup so I can’t give you the correct file path unfortunately. You should just extract the bsa that comes with the Chapter II mod into the same folder it comes from. The Chapter II mod itself is the folder.
A mod is not a folder. Chapter II - Soundtrack mod by Dreyma Music.bsa and Chapter II - Soundtrack mod by Dreyma Music.esp are the mod, which go in the Skyrim Special Edition/Data folder. (Does MO2 use a "folder" of sorts to organize mods in its own UI? Could explain how these terms are being interchanged.)
Where does your mod read its accessed files from? Where are the other song files stored? Does the chapter II stuff go there? Chapter II is in the data folder, shall i deactivate the ChapterII.esp and keep the .bsa and leave it there? We want the .bsa and NOT the .esp, correct?
Sorry if i come off as terse- i really want to enjoy your music collection and just need precise information to install it. Thank you again for your help, and your patience.
The mod /is/ the folder… A Skyrim mod is literally just a zipped archive folder. You can find it in your file explorer titled whatever you named it when you downloaded it to your mod manager and you just drag the files in there.
When you extract the bsa it should let you choose where the output is and it should just be Chapter II’s folder in your mod organizer - that being whatever you named the Chapter II file when you downloaded and activated it using Vortex. Idk how else to explain it, it really should be that simple.
In Mod Organizer you can select a mod and just open the mod folder directly in file explorer. I’d assume Vortex allows you to do that too somehow but idk. I quickly switched over to MO2 when I started modding because it’s much more intuitive in my opinion.
Please list the pathfile your mod recognizes in order to get the Chapter II tracks to work. Thank you.
Also: On the Chapter II mod page the author does give explicit permission for others to use their songs, as long as you give them credit. Consider incorporating the tracklist with proper formatting in your next update, since your installation instructions aren't useful for most skyrim modders (who don't all use MO2 anymore).
Probably adressed before, but it's interesting to hear that a mod depending on sound distributor needs a patch for music mods. Did i get confuse or do I still needed if I don't want the sound patches?
If you want to replace the vanilla music you can do it that way. Just find a music mod that is a replacer for vanilla and it will work fine with this. Otherwise, you'll have to remove all references to vanilla music from the esp using xEdit.
Late reply but honestly the other tracks play pretty frequently alongside Nyghtfall and give it nice variety, so I wouldn't say overall it's "dark fantasy," just has some of those tones mixed in.
Thank you! I’m not sure, I avoided it because idk if there’s some rule about too many music records not being esl-friendly but if you try it or find out otherwise let me know!
Chapter II recently was updated, with remastered versions of three tracks. Is it safe to use that version? or Should I use the one that's linked in this mod page

Check optional files.
Could you potentially merge this masterpiece with the vanilla soundtracks as its own mod so they're both used? :)

I just included a file that removes the vanilla tracks!
One question, can the plugin be flagged as esl?
