This post isn't meant as a criticism of the mod as it's just a taste preference between this and the vanilla. I just thought it's interesting enough to share. The Volkihar in Dawnguard are obviously quite divergent from their depictions in prior lore (namely the book Immortal Blood), but the way their dress, geolocation and architecture is designed in Dawnguard suggests a potential Bretic blood connection, possibly even that they originate in ancient times from somewhere in northern Highrock rather than Skyrim. it might even be that the parents having more Nordic features while Serana boasts more of their more Breton ancestry was an intentional aesthetic choice on the art department's part.
Hmm I tho vanilla Serana was fine. Maybe she does have a bit more unique hair like u said but that is backed up by her more unique personality and background.
