Sadly it doesn't work for me, I use it together with Skyrim Souls but when I click on any menu, it keeps unsheathing the weapon :c

Update: The mod works, it happens that Smooth Input overlaps on top of it and does not allow it to work well, I leave the information there for whoever is interested

Thanks for posting this information here to help other people. I will update the mod description and add a warning about this.

Has anyone come up with a good idea for what to hotkey to the trigger buttons using this mod? This mod opens up two more buttons for out of combat use. So I am thinking about what I could possibly map to the triggers without it causing issues while in combat. I have not come up with anything yet. Anyone else have any good ideas for this? Seems like a missed opportunity right now.

I might just be being incredibly stupid but the mod doesnt seem to be working for me? I am using MO2 and unless I am abundently stupid; installation is just like any other mod no? or do SKSE pluggins need to go in a specific folder somewhere

edit - to clarify I do not have Smooth input installed

Hey, this mod is just like any other SKSE plugin. Just installing the mod in MO2 or Vortex will put the files in the correct place. If you are installing manually, the DLL file from this mod goes into your "[data]/SKSE/plugins" folder. Make sure you have the correct version of Address Library installed for your version of the game.

So I was hoping this would be a fix to a very persistent issue I can't seem to solve. At some point during a session, attack input stops being disabled in certain menus like Hunterborn's Scrimshaw that don't lock my character to an animation while in use. I can still craft and use the menu, but I'll start attacking anytime I click. I have no idea what causes this issue, but the only fix is the just close the game and relaunch it.
I thought this mod would be a way to get around the problem, but the bug even ignores this too. Once the bug gets triggered, it effectively ignores this mod, and I can use lmb+rmb like normal.
Any advice for this would be greatly appreciated!

Also just to clarify, I know this mod isn't the cause or making anything worse, I'm just taking a shot in the dark looking for help lol

Hey, sorry to hear that the mod can not help you resolve your issue.

Just to be clear, do you have your weapon sheathed while trying to use these menus? If your weapon is not sheathed, this mod will have no effect at all.

Unfortunately, I will not be able to help you debug further, since the reverse engineering work for this mod was not done by myself. I simply ported the mod from VR to SE/AE.

      Best of luck!

    Thanks a bunch.

Could you maybe make an option for both the holster/unholster be only after a delayed keypress, like after 3 seconds holding X you holster the weapon. That way it would work even better with other hotkey mods :-)

Neat mod, I will be using this. I also use an unpaused menus mod and suffer from my power button trigger shouts while in stores and other places. Is it possible to make that as well, block powers button unless out of menus?

Baring no updates ruin this for any reason, I think this will be a permanent addition to my load order. This mod makes that entire action of sheathing/ unsheathing more impactful. It puts you in a situation where you naturally find yourself thinking a little more before engaging. Such a simple idea with a huge impact. This is a amazing mod!

Can I make a suggestion?  How about an option to switch it on and off based on whether you're in combat (auto-unsheathe on when in combat, not on when you're not)?  Because I like the idea of not accidentally pulling my sword out in town, but I just have a feeling I'm going to die at least once because I forget to press the button during combat due to muscle memory...

I totally understand the frustration with not being able to draw with the attack buttons during combat. In the first few days after I started playing with the mod, it messed with my muscle memory too. However, I know for sure that you will get used to it after a little while of playing.

If that ends up being too annoying for you, you can at least always disable this mod mid-save without problems. That is totally fine too. I don't think that this mod is for everyone.

Your idea is nice and still solves the original problem, so I may look into implementing it in the future. The problem is that it would require a lot of changes to the design of the mod compared to how it works now. No promises, sorry.

    Thank you, so much.
I use an old Trackball, and I thought my problems with unintentional arming was due to my Trackball wheel being tricky to use.  This should make my gameplay much more enjoyable.

Can you add an option in the mod to move things by holding the mouse button instead of holding [E] when unsheathed?
