Hi I appreciate the mod and I tried it but I kept having issues. Is it at all possible to add the ears to a different category or create a new slider? They seem to mess up a lot of presets that don't use the ears adding elf ears to all characters. I think its the facial hair that's confusing things. Also I think it would work better to start with normal ears and then select elf variants (that might be another work around).
No matter what I do, I don't have the "Facial Hair" option at all! I've scrolled through all the posts and the only other person who seemed to have the same problem also had other mods that used the same slider, while I do not.
Please, I'm starting to feel I'm doing something wrong.
I don't know why tbh. Do you have racemenu installed? How do you call racemenu? Via console commands or with face sculptor in riften? Because the face sculptor has less options even tho it should have facial hair aswell.
Yes, I have racemenu, as well as high poly head and the corresponding skin mod installed. I've accessed it via the starting game character creation process AND via showracemenu command and both times, no luck:(
A well. Anyway, thank you for the mod, it is amazing even though it seems I can't use it (this playthrough, at least).
If you've got Headparts Whitelist installed, the Facial Hair slider won't appear on its own. You'll have to manually add GoamElvenEars.esp to the default.ini file.
To do this in MO2: 1. Double click HeadpartWhitelist in your mod list 2. click on INI Files, then select HeadpartWhitelist\defaults.ini 3. Make a new line anywhere, and type in GoamElvenEars.esp 4. Close, and save when prompted.
there you go. as simple as editing a single .ini file. i was tearing my irl facial hair out for actual dozens of hours before i happened upon a single bug report on another mod....
Any idea which of these skin options is the closest match to the Realore skin? I don't want to ask for a compatibility patch, I'm ok with it being slightly off-tone, I just would like to know which of these options is the least obvious mismatch.
Would a BnP RSV patch be possible? Because I love this, but having to reinstall it if I ever feel the need to switch to one of my other Proteus presets is a bit annoying. Luckily I only need to do this for two characters but still...
Fixed my problem, had Community Shaders downloaded for whatever reason (I think for a mod I now forgotten the name of and never downloaded). In essence, I was being really dumb.
I am trying to fix some item slot incompatibilities with my load order and make a patch, but I am unable to find the normal means to change an item slot in nifskope/SSEEdit for the ears. I was wondering if its a possible thing to do or are they bound to slot 44 because of the facial hair slider?
I am a tad blind, would it just be the elf ears in sseedit or is there a different item I have to look for? I was searching for 44 and the only mention of it in the nifs were the form ID that I couldn't edit. Maybe I have to go to the ck and change it?
It's just the elf ears. 44 is just the form version of the plugin itself. It should always be 44 for special edition plugins. what you want to change is 'PNAM - Type'. Scars is the only viable option other than facial hair. You can't really change any slots since the ears are a headpart, not an item like an armor.
You can tecnically add custom headpart categories to racemenu but I never really dived into something like that so I can't help you with that.

Hopefully this will prevent the hat from making the ears vanish.
