Unfortunately, it didn't do anything for me :(

I checked SSEEdit, and there was no mod in my load order overwriting BYOHRelationshipAdoptableOrphanage

Do you have vanilla script microoptimizations 1.16? That’s the one with the faulty script. Make sure this mod loads after that mod. If you don’t have that, I highly recommend getting it to improve many non adoption scripts.

My mod is only meant to fix the issue with vanilla script microoptimizations. If your issue is caused by something else, especially some script other than the one in this mod, my mod probably won’t help.

Thanks so much for this! I had to enter the command resetquest 03004286 (and then restarting the game to be safe) for this fix to work on a running safe but now my girlfriend can finally adopt Lucia und Sofie without the game getting destroyed in all kinds of weird ways. It was freaking my out trying to figure out which of my mods was causing this!

Glad to  hear RogueUnicorn00's fix helped! (They described it, I uploaded the implementation.)
I will add your mid-game console fix to the description for people who aren't starting a new game.

Thank you so much. I had this problem a while ago, and I didn't know what was causing it. I had to use an earlier save for normal games. Thank you again.

Does it overlap with this mod?

It's 100% overlap so you wouldn't need this installed. It'd be doing nothing. Here's the load order.
Because VSMO uses the esl extension it will load before the mod you're talking about every time.

If you're a user of Adoption Spouse and Moving Fixes or Prince and The Pauper Refine this plugin isn't doing anything - neither of those mods use VSMO as a base so I think you should be good. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

I trust the author. Thank you CatOfEvilGenius for noticing this. 🤍
Maybe there's a way this can be addressed in the script itself - or this change could just be removed from VSMO entirely for compatibility purposes?

      Hi Dylan :)

The script in question was byohrelationshipadoptableorphanagesc if I recall correctly, not the other one.

Several of us noticed the broken adoption issue and were discussing it in the Adoption Spouse and Moving Fixes thread.
We all had ASMF but adoptions were still broken. Eventually folks figured out it was VSMO breaking adoption by letting
the adoption script run thousands of times. RogueUnicorn00 posted how to fix it so I did and uploaded the fix.

Thanks for posting the load order. I'll see what I can get rid of in my own load order if some stuff is unnecessary.

I just installed the script optimization mod removed before the new game, put this fix on top, tested it in a bunch of Tundra Homestad + Sophie + Lucia, everything works perfectly)

Will this work for mods that allow for more than 2 adoptions?

Hearthfire Multiple Adoptions removes the Run Once flag already.  It doesn't add the Multiple Stages flag, though; not sure if that's an issue or not.

It still happens with HMA, whether or not you're able to adopt a child is largely a random chance.  Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not.  They go through all the dialog and then... stay where they are.  Even if you move them to your house by console commands, they leave to go back to their old haunts.

I do not know, never used Hearthfire Multiple Adoptions.
