I'm an immersion freak and will install anything able to give me just a tiny ounce of immersion. I also have ADHD and it makes not skipping dialogue when I have the option to difficult. Especially when I've finished reading the subtitles already. This has helped me tremendously. Thank you so much for making this.

It seems some people here think this is sort of a gag mod. I don't know whether it is or isn't (unsure of the author's intent). But that being said, I can see this mod being very good for immersion purposes. It would force you to exist in that world and slow down the pace of the game. In real life, you can't just "skip" dialogue. Yes you can walk away or tell someone to shut up but that's not the same as skipping it as if it never happened. I would actually consider using this mod except for one concern. I use a lot of custom-voiced followers and some of them can be long-winded. Just today I was messing around with Serana Dialogue Add-on and we were in the middle of no where. She was going on and on about something and then in the middle of it we were attacked. I was able to survive the encounter by skipping the dialogue. Without that option I'd have been facing a game reload. Other than that one potential (albeit rare) situation, I actually like the sound of this mod very much. I wonder if a condition could be added whereby dialogue can be skipped if the player is in combat?

EDIT: I tested it to get a better idea about the mod and apparently you can still escape dialogue, you just can't cut off the NPC from speaking. They will always finish their lines. So the concern I wrote about above is unfounded. If you're listening to a follower and get attacked, just back out of the dialogue and draw your weapon to fend off your assaulters. Literally the only concern is a mild lapse of immersion as your companion drolls on about some meaningless while you're fighting spriggans. And even without this mod that kind of thing can be prone to happening anyway. I was in Bleak Falls the other day with Sofia, she started talking and then kept on talking as three draugr attacked us. So I'll definitely use this and endorse. Thanks.

Kudos for the detailed breakdown. I too had a similar concern and this gave me an answer, so thanks for your edit.

This will pair well with my no-fast-travel mod and the one that lets me walk around in an open robe.

Some people think is sort of a gag mod, but I'll say this, when I played mass effect for the first time, I didn't figure out how to skip dialogue in the first 5 minutes so I figured you couldn't.  So I listened to EVERYTHING, and it ended up being one of my favorite games of all time, I was really invested in the story, felt immersed, its a tad hard to do when you've played the game 100 times, but on the flip side, did you skip dialogue for 99 of those playthroughs?  This mod might really bring back some novelty to a game you've been largely ignoring the voice acting in for over a decade.

Do you mean a mod that prevents you from pausing the game while dialogue is playing? Not that I'm aware of. Maybe I'll add that feature to this mod at some point, since pausing also seems to skip dialogue.

Install it directly in the Game folder so it doesn't even show up on his mod manager. Wait until he uninstalls the game entirely before you let him in on the gag.  Just don't blame me when he pisses in your beer when you are not looking.

I sometimes have the habit of skipping dialogue especially on certain quest mods. Hopefully this mod will help me break that habit.

Same! I'm also using Vanishing Dialogue to make the dialogue menu disappear while a character is speaking (it works on SE) and another of of my own to encourage actually talking to NPCs.

This should be part of a collection: "How to stop playing Skyrim".
