The option when installing that makes the compass markers invisible doesnt seem to work? my player location is invisible on the map, but the compass markers are vanilla and not invisible. have tried re-installing to make sure i picked the right options but it doesnt seem to work anyways

Same.  Actually it's not just the invisible ones that don't work-- compass markers are just normal/unchanged.   Map markers are changed.

The last time I played Skyrim was 2 years ago and this mod was on my modlist them and it is in my modlist now. It's great to discover things in a more immersive way without the compass showing everything. It's a nice addition to immersive modlists. I installed SkyHud to hide health and stamina bars and try to guide myself using the breathing of the character and the icons appeared again but it was just a matter of load order. Putting this mod below solves it. Great mod, congratulations BrinaSair!

This mod removed my quest markers even after having the mod uninstalled for some reason

This will sound very strange, but I am suffering the effects of this mod without having it installed.

No mods ought to be doing this and I can't for the life of me figure out why my markers are being hidden. Does anyone have any ideas what this might be?

If you don't give people more information, how can you possibly expect a reasoned response?

I am currently in the same situation. After installing a few QUESTS mods, totally unrelated to this
mod, I ended up with the exact same icons replacing every compass marker.

Maybe you have one of these mods too ? (sorry it's in French)

If you have Compass Navigation Overhaul, go into SKSE > Plugins > CompassNavigationOverhaul.ini and set bShowUndiscoveredLocationMarkers to 1

This is nice, but is there any way to remove the "Current Location" text when you open the map? It defeats the purpose a bit of not seeing your location when you indirectly see it anyway since it always center over yourself and your "current location". If it was possible to always open the map at the center and remove the current location it would be awesome in creating that feeling of getting lost..

I'm probably an outlier, but I'm using Simple Colored Map Markers SSE and when I install this mod (I check compatibility for Simple Colored Map Markers), it removes the colour of the objective markers on the compass. On the world map objective markers are coloured, but on the compass they are default black/white. Am I doing something wrong, or it just won't work together?

Either way, thank you for creating this mod. I'm really enjoying it despite this nuisance.

Edit: Nevermind, I found a reddit thread where someone explained how to remove the player marker from the SWF file using a decompiler program. For anyone else that wants to do something similar for unsupported UI mods, I used JPEXS Flash Decompiler. Create a backup copy of the UI mod you want to edit, then open the map marker art file (in my case, that was Interface\SkyUI\mapmarkerart.swf). Right click on shape 147 (make sure that it's the right icon when you open it), then delete it and save the file. You can then install it as a separate mod or replace the existing mapmarkerart.swf file in the file directory of the mod you edited (ALWAYS keep a backup of the original file if you choose to replace it).

Hi, would it be possible to create a patch for the  21x9 Nordic UI mod to use alongside the "Non-UMU - Remove Player From the Map" file? The existing non-UMU options revert my map markers to their vanilla/SkyUI icons. They also replace the bottom bar with the 16x9 versions, which aren't long enough to reach the ends of the screen. I haven't been able to find any other mods for AE that just hide the player position from the map, so a patch (or instructions on how I could do it myself, as I have literally zero experience with patching mods) would be greatly appreciated.

Is the latest version still also compatible with SSE or just AE?

There's a FOMOD menu on v2.25 that let you choose to install either AE or SE files
