could you do the opposite and make a mod to complete the conversation between vilja and serana, if i provide voice generation of vanilla serana. would that work and be compatible still with serana dialogue overhaul (a different voice actor)
I kinda forgot I had this mod in my load order, and introduced Vilja to Serana using her dialogue options. Vilja bugged out after that and wouldn't respond to me anymore, but it worked again once I reloaded a save before introducing them.
So fair warning to anyone using this: do not try to introduce Vilja to Serana. Just don't.
To be more specific: I was still in Dimhollow, just freed Serana, then talked to Vilja and used the introduce to Serana option. They faced each other, I think Vilja was trying to say something but no sound came out. Then Vilja just randomly said "I want to talk to you about something". I click on her, the 'What is it?' menu shows up...but when I select that, nothing happens. The conversation just ends. She keeps repeating 'I need to talk' but when I click 'What is it', same thing happens again and again. I can't select any of her other options. I even tried using some of her horns, no change.
Then I reloaded a previous save, and didn't select the introduce option. Everything's been working fine since then.
While the unfinished conversations with Serana were actually kind of funny, like Serana just thought Vilja was so annoying she would not respond, this is a massive improvement. Thanks for your work!

The problem is that the author never set them up to properly play in response so Vilja just talks to herself.
The same issue exists with Frea.
I tried, for literal hours, to figure out how to get Frea's responses to play back properly but couldn't get it to work.
In all the years I've modded Bethesda games I've never really messed around with dialogue in that way.
Someone else who understands how to make NPCs banter with each other would have to fix it.
It's way above my skill level to do so, otherwise I would've fixed it last year when I discovered that Vilja was left unfinished.

The mod stopped the conversations from taking place, but definitely didn't stop Vilja from responding to me.

Especially knowing that Emma originally intended for Serana to have voiced responses, they just were never implemented.
