Added files 05/09/2020 I'm really grateful getting access here to add some missing files. In case you are using Dual Sheath Redux like me, or something similar.
Strangely, doesn't work for me with Vortex untill I download manually to obtain a valid *.7z file that I can extract in data/meshes as a loose file. Thanks a lot for this model, the former one looked like a weird satellite dish Oo
Was the new DSR patch file supposed to have the optional texture too? I prefer the original texture. I'm using Immersive equipment displays and it's working properly(The unequipped shield goes to back and has the same texture as when equipped), except for the optional texture that came with it.
You absolutely make sense.I removed the texture folder, so one doesn't have to take any unwanted files anymore. I prefer the optionals so I never recognized... Thank you for mentioning it
Open SSEEdit, Top left, copy paste 00045f96. Scroll down in right pane. Find keywords (If you collapse the file trees, it will be the 5th one I think), find the last flag/keyword that says "magicdisallowenchant". Right click, remove
EDIT: Forgot to mention that you cannot edit Skyrim.esm itself so if you have a mod esp that edits spellbreaker, you can do that in there. If you don't have a mod that edits spellbreaker, right click spellbreaker (00045f96), select "copy as override" and copy it into an existing mod that you don't mind copying into to save plugin or copy into a new esp, name it whatever you want, remove the keyword. Seems kinda dumb to crate a whole esp with nothing else but that in there so I recommend copying into a mod you already have installed. But each one for their own
For anyone that wants to use this along side mods that display shields on your back you can download the oldrim version for Duel Sheath Redux and drag and drop the SpellbreakerOnBack.nif to your Skyrim Special Edition\Data\meshes\armor\Spellbreaker folder.
Hey, I'm using the Backshields SE mod (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/3182) and have the same problem. It reverts to the vanilla mesh when the shield is sheathed on back. Any way to fix that? I tried the above but no effect. Thanks! Note I'm also using Cloaks of Skyrim.
I found a working solution if you use Mod Organizer 2. Copy the spellbreakerOnBack.nif from the mod folder to "[MO2 directory]\overwrite\meshes\weapons\backshields" (if the directory does not exist create it) and rename to "spellbreakerbackshieldf.nif" (or "spellbreakerbackshieldm.nif", or both)
The Complete Remese includes the white retexture that is supposed to be optional, so it's kind of misleading. You can hide three textures in the MO2 or simple delete them to get the original version.

This is what I was taking about
Cheers!
Of course, the mod does not exist yet at the time this thread started.
