Might be worth mentioning that creating the patch deletes your racemenu presets

RaceMenu presets are not related to the UI files.

Trying to look for the CharGen file and could only find it in the overwriite folder. I followed the DIP tutorial video and created a mod from the overwrite folder. Somehow my character presets have disappeared after making the patch. Not a big deal, but slightly annoying

They were not deleted. If you created a mod from the overwrite folder, everything from there gets moved into the new mod. Take a look there.

Yeah I installed it like that twice... The first time I was confused by how many mods were conflicting with the Dear Diary Patch so I deleted it and started again. Second time I tried I was suprised that only "meta.ini" and "interface" folder inside the folder.

Probably by deleting the mod that first time I deleted everything else :/
Ive never interacted with the Overwrite folder before and stupidly treated the DIP Patch as one that only effected Diary Diary, when it used everything in the Overwrite. Should have been more careful lol

I have tried multiple combinations of folder paths and all I can get is errors. What am I doing wrong?

I'm not sure what this means, but it happens almost every time

errors.FFDecError: Failed to execute FFDec command! Check output above!

EDIT: I uninstalled and reinstalled Java and this fixed the issue.

If you are on MO2 or Vortex, you can just leave the lower path empty. Just open the app with your Mod Manager of choice and click on Patch!

Leaving the lower path empty gives me this:

That is just the traceback, not the error message itself. Please send the full log (preferably via pastebin).

I fixed the issue by reinstalling Java. Not exactly sure what the problem was. Bad update?

I don't know. Java sometimes does some weird stuff. But it's good to hear that it works now!
