2023 07 31 I have added a blank voice pack template to the miscellaneous files, I'll keep this up to date with the mod as events are added, it should make for a convenient starting point for creating voice packs. It also contains a readme that is far too long that explains how to use it and then rambles endlessly about some particulars about making what is in my opinion a "good" voice pack.
2023 07 26 Feel free to make suggestions for new events, there's a complete list at the end of the voice pack creation article if you're interested in seeing everything currently implemented, I'm sure there's plenty of other times where it'd be neat for our dragonborn's to say a thing that I haven't thought of.
I also have an empty discord server, I really only made it for another means of feedback currently.
Just wanted to post a comment to see if anyone knows about a way to fix the "begin_combat" lines not triggering after the first time. I haven't seen a lot of recent activity here but I figured I'd try anyway. Thanks! :')
While still not up-to-date (I still have to deal with several packages now to update), I made a community voice pack of several female and male voice types (including femalekhajiit one) for this framework: DBVB - Unofficial Vanilla Voice Packs>DBVB - FemaleKhajiit
Hello! Been using this mod for a few days now; the lines feel a lot more responsive than PC Headtracking during heavy script situations, that's a huge plus for me.
Not sure if this classifies as a bug or oversight, but the kill actor lines are also played for stealth kills. It's kinda hilarious hearing my sneaky character suddenly yell at the top of their lungs after killing a target, lol. Maybe the conditions could be modified so the lines won't fire during stealth?
I also have to second another commenter about the begin combat lines not playing. When I checked the console menu, there's no "The NPC will speak now" message like it used to, so the event doesn't fire at all it looks like. Not a big deal for me personally tho.
Btw, the main download is lacking event_settings.json and selected_voice_pack.json files. I had to grab them from the old files.
I've been using it for quite some time, however, a message is appearing in the console stating that "system can't fine route Data/sound/DBVB/gh_ciri/cast_spell_hostile"
While checking the files, there isn't a folder named like that, but there is a "cast_magic_hostile". Is that the folder? Idk if renaming it would do the trick, but guess I gotta try it out. Just stepping by to mention that error
A very trivial additional feature suggestion for the future update.
With v 0.3.2, I've found PC often commenting on the clear weather during the night as well as the daytime. Is it possible to add a toggle in MCM to limit the weather comment only during the daytime?
Perhaps it's my mistake to include too many of "such a fine day!" like comments in the weather-clear folder, and my PC often also loves the starry sky as a fine beginning of the day...
Don't know if this is a bug, but it seems only the kill NPC lines are spoken, and (very rarely) combat start lines. I use the YoungEager voice packs and already crank the frequency of events to 2.0.
The begin combat event does require line of sight to the actor whose combat state is changing so that may be a concern there. Are you getting other lines? Potion drinking etc.?
After a few hours of testing, i think the "Going in inns/houses", "Loot items", "Kill NPCs" works consistently. "Drinking potions" lines very rarely triggers, same for "Begin combat" lines. However, i never see the block hit lines get triggered.
Thanks, most of the events you're having trouble with are getting some mild re-works in future so they ought to be addressed when I get around to that.
line of sight or not, these lines only play certain amount of time after having started a new game and then completely disappear, it's a pretty annoying bug ngl, every other line plays fine but this, i put quite effort into filling these folders.
