   I dont understand how presets never work for me. Face always looks messed up no matter what I do.

      You might be missing some of the presets requirements (Racemenu and Expressive facegen morphs, or use a different skin type).
      Try going to the Sculpt tab in Racemenu, and import the facegen (.nif file) this should make the face look like the pictures :)
