*Important: Regarding BOS version You shouldn't use the BOS version(s) alongside the regular version(s). You also shouldn't swap the original versions for the BOS versions mid-playthrough. Also, if you use the ALL-BOS, but don't want specific items swapped, you can comment out the lines in the _SWAP.ini files or delete the swap files you don't need.
Thank you! Though I can't take full credit for the models. Hmm I thought I pathed all the textures correctly, I'll have to go over the files again when I actually find the time lol
I found one missing texture- the brackets under the shelves in a cabinet by the bows in the Dragon's Reach armory. They were purple. I also had a random table stuck in a column in Farengar's office to the left of where he stands bending over his table (might be another mod, but I disabled this one and the table disappeared so idk) Just downloaded this mod and the Morrowind one and WOW these are beautiful! So glad you did this! Thank you!
Ah, I see. I'll fix it by the end of this week, maybe before that. Would you mind uploading a pic of the furniture in question? And thanks, I appreciate the positive feedback :-)
I went ahead and installed it anyway (excluding the shelves) and it looks amazing! I've been using SFCO for so long... it's great to not only have a change but a brilliant one! Can't wait for the update but until then, thank you for this! Heartily endorsed!
I did find one other missing texture... the canopied dragon beds have what look like rods under the canopy (I guess to hold the canopy in place?) that have no texture. Only noticeable if you sleep in those beds in third person. It's a (very) small thing. Just wanted to let you know.
Brooo this furniture replacer is awesome, i love the glossy/reflective effect, truly beautiful shapes and style, are you planning on doing more objects other than furnitures? i hope so XD
I was looking for a mod to replace the vanilla beds of children. Snazzy Furniture and Clutter Overhaul does not replace everything as it turned out. The Jarl's children slept in separate beds. The feeling that Jarl loves one child more, and makes others sleep on straw). Your mod has done a great job with this. I decided to try the furniture too, because I really liked the style of the bed with carved dragons). But I don't really like the color of cabinets, tables and everything else. Too dark and too glossy. Maybe it's because it doesn't go well with my Noble Skyrim global retexture. I would like the textures of the wood to have a more natural look and match the surroundings. In any case, it's a great job. Thank you for the wonderful bed replacer.
The "glossy" effect was my attempt to give it an "oily" wood finish. Unless you downloaded the regular 2k version, the higher quality version should have lighter color schemes. I'm not the original author, I'm mainly responsible for retextures lol. I do have plans for a rustic version but I'm not sure when that will be as I don't really have time to dedicate to this mod as of now. Thanks for the feedback :-)
Thanks for the mod. Good meshes, but low poly and wood texture resolution too low by today's standards and look like upscale from low resolution. Also, the texture of the furniture is too dark, especially with ENB turned on.
I'm aware. This mod is kind of an experimental project. As I'm very new to modding, I'm still trying to understand everything that entails. I have no idea how to animate containers, that's way beyond my limited expertise. I'll research but in the meantime if anyone is willing to help, that'll be awesome. Consider this mod in alpha mode lol 0_0
Is it normal that this mod is not overwriting any other mods? I have other mods that touch furniture, but I wanted to check this out. I really like what you did with the noble furniture.
Yes. Your mod works. Your models look good, but they are bit too clean and fancy for my tastes. In my opinion, an option for a more rustic and weathered version would be nice. Good work regardless.
I will take a look in a couple of weeks and give you an endorsement if I like it. My suggestion is to make them close to the textures used in this mod. 4K SMIM Furniture Improvement at Skyrim Special Edition Nexus - Mods and Community (nexusmods.com) Those textures are very fitting for Skyrim, and they fit well with other mods. The furniture doesn't stand out so much paired up next to barrels and crates.
I absolutely love this! Thank you for bringing attention to the base mod SOFA. It's wonderful and I'm amazed more people haven't given it attention. Your retextures are awesome. The original textures from SOFA definitely needed some work. I grabbed the first retexture set you made when you first released it. I'm mixing your first and second retextures to fit my own build better, but they are still very beautiful. I love the lace tablerunner from the first retexture you did and also the textures for the beds. I especially love the new patterend prints in the latest retextures you've done. They fit very nicely into my build!
Just a heads up, there are a few things you should be aware of. Some of the textures are not in a power of two(512, 1024, 2048, etc). That can cause crashes on some systems. (For me on Linux, it gives me horrible strange lags while staring at an object with odd texture sizes.) It's a quick fix in gimp and it's only a small handful of textures. (I resized them to appropriate powers of two and checked them in game and they seemed okay. It didn't distort the textures too strongly to be noticable.) Second thing is some of the plugins that make cell edits have ITMs and deleted records. Running them through xEdit's Quick Auto Clean will fix that. Third, some of the cell edits disable specific furniture and place the new furniture with versions from SOFA, which isn't a problem unless someone is using a mod that also moves or replaces the original ones. (I was getting some overlapping odd placed objects with some overhauls when that happened.) Base Object Swapper can be used to swap the original objects for the SOFA versions and increase compatibility. It's mostly some canopy beds and dividers that have their original ones deleted/disabled and a new object is placed in their spot. Very few items would need a BOS swap, so that hopefully shouldn't be too hard to do.
As far as compatibility goes, I've quickly checked SOFA with overhauls from JK, HS, Tem, Gutmaw, TPOSC, and a few others. On rare occasions does the furniture from SOFA have clipping(just a couple in HS's Dragons Reach). Overwhelmingly, it seems compatible otherwise. Thank you very much for your work on this retexture! I look forward to anything else you might make!
I really appreciate the compliment! SOFA is such a great mod, I like how different the models are, compared to other furniture mods out there. The colors definitely needed some variety which is why it might have gotten looked over. So I thought to myself, what if I just try to retexture this? Shouldn't be that hard. My biggest attempt at modding yet lol. I did get the warning in NifScope that some textures weren't a power of two. I did some research and read that this mostly causes issues on older systems, sorry about that. I did use Gimp to manipulate some textures but resizing is beyond me, more research needed. I'm not well versed when it comes to Xedit. I do use it to clean mods, only when prompted. Guess that's something else I need to look into. There are bound to be some minor bugs as I'm very new to this but I'll try to sort out any issues. I also welcome people to patch and release some fixes as well :-P
I can clean the esps and I can compact and esl flag them for you if you want. I can also send you the properly resized textures if you want me too!
The power of two is important because graphics optimizations are built around powers of two because they can be computed faster. Even if you have to resize an image so that it fits a larger power of two, the end result is better speed optimization. It's not an obvious thing, but it's good to know. That's why I experience weird slow downs with odd sized textures! It took me a while to figure out that was the cause in the past, but now I know and that's how I spotted the issue quickly.
Overall, it's a great start for a first mod! There's a lot to learn with modelling and texturing. I've learned a lot very slowly over my time modding Skyrim, so don't feel bad about any bugs!
Any help is appreciated! Feel free to send me the resized textures and cleaned ESPs. I'll take your offer to ESL flag them as well. Would you be willing to do the same for the Dunmer mod? Someone mentioned some minor cell errors with the furniture in Severyn and Morvayn manors. There are uneven textures with some Dunmer models as well. Thank you in advance, I'll make sure to credit you!

New optimization update!
All ESPS have been cleaned and flagged as ESL
All textures have been properly resized and optimized
All thanks to dovahkiinbear164!
Delete old version!
All previous optional files are now somewhat redundant
Most of the texture entries are
data\textures\sofa_texure...
But some are
data\sofa_texture...
So users would get some missing textures bug
Hmm I thought I pathed all the textures correctly, I'll have to go over the files again when I actually find the time lol
Appreciate the feedback! :-)
And thanks, I appreciate the positive feedback :-)
Thank you for this mod!!
thank you so much!!
