This mod re-creates what the ice would look like under vanilla ice textures.
This is mainly to be used with ENB for best currently available look but does work without it.
The look of the mod doesn't aim to represent real ice.
Update 1.1
What kind of ice retexture is this and how is it different from others ?
This is an experimental version of ice using the vanilla textures. It features a number of complex techniques when using surface textures, normal maps and multilayered textures.
I've attempted to create the feel of multilayered parallax on much better scale while reducing the visible seams of models and integrating the surface parallax through the help of ENB. Meaning that these textures are designed from the very bottom to be used mainly with these graphical options.
While it is not yet ready and it doesn't cover everything, I believe it's quite incredible to try this out and experience the limits of what is possible in this decade+ old game.
Since the mod isn't yet finished and lacking a number of features and fixes, it wont be really good for gameplay (for now). With time this should improve and expand :)
There are 2 versions
Basic Vanilla Ice for ENB
This version uses slightly modified meshes from IMR but does not use ENB complex parallax.
The textures are BC7 in 4K.
Advanced Vanilla Ice for ENB
This version has drastically modified meshes and utilizes ENB complex parallax which is aimed for the best quality.
The textures are BC7 in 4K.

Installation notes for advanced version
Make sure to have these settings set like this in your enbseries.ini
EnableComplexParallax=true
EnableComplexParallaxShadows=
I have contacted Boris and the issues have been resolved. These settings can and should now both be enabled.

Technical Overview (Meshes)
The meshes were taken from IMR and continued development in a bit of an alternative way. Some users may remember that I used to have experimental meshes. But while they somewhat worked, they couldn't be applied to all textures. It would lead to inconsistencies and here's why.
With the help of blender, I reconstructed the mesh (When a UV map is applied, this separates the mesh in islands like what is visible on the UV map), then I'm able to create a new UV map. For some objects I can make it seamless as the one textures are in repetition and doesn't need a lot of complex geometry (or large). Some objects need a few minor UV cuts which introduces seams like what vanilla meshes have.
However the point of all of this is to create a feeling of seamless ice. It's not perfect, but it's as good as it's gonna get. Additionally some meshes have a higher poly count which improves the shading calculations needed for parallax through vertices.
Having to develop a specific texture that fits these meshes is difficult as it will often be too repetitive or in other cases it will feel stretched out. So it had to be melty yet full of parallax.
