If you don't like a certain tankard model you can open the _SWAP.ini and simply delete that model's name from the list and/or replace it with another

UPDATE 4/18/2024: Added AnimObjects for most tankard models. A new .ini with better distribution. Most cities now have their own tankard style rather than a mix like before with matching animobjects. Bandit camps and smaller settlements will still have a mix of tankards. Removed rainbow tankard from distribution.

Looking to include Arcs tankard, just waiting on permission.

Hmmm, Basictankard01 shows up as mauve/purple...

Might be something in in my load order.

Otherwise, I am loving this mod!

It uses SMIM textures. You can either install just the tankard textures from SMIM if you don't want the whole mod or replace the basictankard01.nif in my mod with another one

      Thanks for the reply!

Now I just have to learn how to do that...

Oh, wow...You are a sanity saver!  Thank you!I was pulling my hair out over the mauve mugs!I really didn't want to go down the SMIM hole again.  Don't get me wrong, it's an awesome mod, but something in my load order always conjures up the "can't find the textures" mauve when I used it.I tried to figure out how to reassign textures, but failed.Worse, on my test profile, I wasn't having the "mauve mug" issue: I thought I had solved it by editing the SWAP.ini.  But all my other profiles had purle tankards...  To the point where I was ready to just head cannon mauve mugs into the lore of Skyrim.Your solution was simple and now makes sense.  Thanks for the suggestion and the lesson.

Thank you for making it so I don't have to choose a tankard replacer. Now I can have them ALL. Was wondering if you would consider adding this one at some point? Halffaces - tankard replacer - Metal
Also, I didn't care for the rainbow tankard and didn't install. Is that going to be a problem or will something else replace it?
Thank you again for making my tankard choice an easy one

EDIT: I tried replacing the rainbow mug with the above one. I must have missed a step because it didn't work. Do I need to rename the mesh and texture in the ini?

To replace the rainbow tankard with the Halffaces' metal tankard just rename their .nif file to BasictankardRainbow.nif and let it overwrite my mod. You shouldn't have to do anything else unless you want it to appear outside of winterhold in which case you need to edit the .ini

I've followed the instructions and consistently received purple tankards, particularly tankard03 being a problematic one. I use SMIM and I ensured Skyland Bits and Bobs (which uses tankard01) is not enabled during testing. I reinstalled every single mod relating to tankards as mentioned in the description and followed this exact process using mod organizer:

    Installed:
    Tankard Descriptions
Kemper's Dragon Tankard (not running, just endorsed as requested)
    Rainbow Party Tankard (hid .esp)
    Tankard Replacer 4k
    SCM Textures Only
    Nordic Tankard 2k-8k by iimlenny
SWM - Gold Dragons Updated Textures Only
Various Immersive Tankard (at end, winning all conflicts)

The only conflict in this setup is with basictankard01.nif, with Various Immersive Tankards winning since it is at the bottom of the load order. There are no other conflicts present in the conflicts section of VIT, nor when I search in the data tab of MO2.

As it stands, in the inn in Riverwood, on the table in front of the door, there is BasicTankard04 which is purple, and BasicTankard03 which is unselectable in the console which is also purple. BasicTankard02 is on the bar, and working fine.

    Information:
-During testing, I ensured that I made a new character and save any time I'd alter the load order.
-I am using version 640 of skyrim.
-BOS is running and functioning normally for other modules. No other BOS mods seem to be displaying an issue of this nature.
-Putting VIT above or below other tankard mods has made no difference

If you could offer any insight into what might be causing this and where or how I messed up, I'd really appreciate it since I'd love to use this mod.

Looks like you don't have "Elsopa - Tankard HD" which would explain missing textures on basictankard04.nif. I also don't see "Medieval Flagon 2k-8k by iimlenny" in your list which would explain missing textures for basictankard03.nif. As far as basictankard03.nif being unselectable in console I have no idea.

As a side note both those tankards show up purple in nifskope even with the correct textures and I have no clue why. But in game they should work fine.

Let me know if this helps :)

I added those as you instructed and checked immediately and everything worked. I'm so thrilled!

Thank you so much for responding to me and helping me get this working.

Under the circumstances, I guess I should say cheers!

The ini is looking for basictankard01nordic.nif, but that doesn't exist. If it's meant to be the Lenny Nordic tankard, which it looks like from the shape, the file is called basictankard01.nif - I renamed it to nordic.nif and it loads fine now.

What was the issue? What you're saying doesn't make much sense. The .ini doesn't look for a .nif file at all. It looks for an editorID. The editorID for iimlenny's tankard model is basictankard01Nordic. The mesh is named basictankard01Nordic.nif and absolutely exists. The basic tankard mesh basictankard01.nif is included to overwrite the required files meshes.

Regardless, glad it works for you.

The mesh is named basictankard01Nordic.nif and absolutely exists

Not in the replacer mod. imlenny's tankard texture and mesh is called basictankard01. I checked the mod download contents about five times to be sure of this. It's a very distinctive tankard shape, so I was able to find the 'missing' tankard easily, I never tested any of the other tankards but I looked everywhere for the nif it was meant to be using.

Your mod was winning all conflicts, the only basictankard01nordic.nif file in the conflicts list/ my mod staging folder/the loose game folders was from your mod, there is no basictankard01nordic.nif in the base game BSA (and I had recently reverified Skyrim's game files before that), and I had SMIM. I can't find any other explanation at my end beyond 'your mod is looking for the nif with the matching filename and it didn't exist'. It looked to me like your mod created the Nordic Tankard category/ID/nif, and the replacer mod didn't actually use that, but maybe something happened to my original file nordic.nif somehow?

I checked the ID in game on the problem tankard with the console and I'm pretty sure it was 'BasicTankard01Nordic' (I am ... 90% sure on that, a couple of weeks later), which is what sent me looking at your mod's ini in the first place to see if it actually replacing any nordic tankards in those locations. It was.

Your mod ini tells Skyrim to load BasicTankard01Nordic (=Clutter\dining set\basictankard01Nordic.nif in the .esp) in Whiterun and Windhelm, where I was seeing this issue, which yeah, isn't a problem with the ini itself, I just didn't have much to go on at that point, was still learning SSEdit, and I was very tired.  So it seemed like the ini for Immersive Tankards was trying to swap in a tankard that didn't exist, at least on my set up.

I looked at that, went 'that doesn't match anything I have for this tankard, the editorID and filename are the same anyway so it could be calling on either and just assuming the filetype behind the scenes, I'm not going to edit it in case I accidentally call on a different tankard, and anyway the filename I have for this tankard doesn't match the editorID or your mod at all so it makes sense that the error is there'. I changed the mesh filename to match what your mod was looking for, as a test, and it all started working properly.

The simplest assumption was that your mod is calling on a file path for imlenny's mod that doesn't actually exist, so it can't pair the mesh and texture up properly. So I reported that in case it was helpful to the person who actually knows how and why their mod works. If that's not what is happening, great? maybe my install is corrupted somehow? But I am describing exactly what happened. If that still doesn't make any sense, take it up with Skyrim's code base.

      To recap:

      • The only place in my entire mod list and vanilla game files where basictankard01nordic.nif existed was Immersive Tankards.
      • Imlenny's download has basictankard01.nif and I had purple nordic mugs in game with the imlenny shape.
      • I changed their mod to use basictankard01nordic.nif and now my game loads non-purple nordic mugs that looked exactly like the imlenny mod.
      • Conclusion: your mod probably shouldn't be calling on basictankard01nordic.nif in the first place, without changes to the other mod.

My mod includes iimlenny's tankard. Its literally the same file just renamed. The texture path is the same.  The only way you'd have purple nordic tankards is if you didnt have iimlenny's textures installed properly. You seem to be the only person that had this issue. It works fine for me as well. My mod functions as it should and this issue is isolated to you.

Could be how your mod manager handles files and overwrites? I use MO2 and don't know anything about other managers and their functions.

Regardless, I'm happy you got it to work

Let my mod overwrite all the tankard mods. The file being overwritten is basictankard.nif. You can remove that file from the required mods if you want but its not necessary

I feel like I must be doing something wrong, but one of the tankards is purple missing texture. I downloaded all of the required mods except for the one that says (download and endorse, already included in this mod) and I deleted the esp of the one that had one. I loaded this mod after all the other ones in MO2.

That is the basictankard01.nif. The problem you're having is I used the .nif from SMIM and it has a custom texture path.
      https://imgur.com/a/ls7lwVV

I didn't realize it had a custom path and I guess no one complained because most people use SMIM these days lol.

I'm guessing you have 2 options:
      1. Download SMIM (worth it imo)
                    or
      2. Hide/Delete basictankard01.nif from my mod and all the required mods. Then your game will use the vanilla tankard .nif with the vanilla path. You have to hide/delete all the basictankard01.nif files otherwise the distribution will be weird

And thank you for pointing this out, I will make a note in the description. Let me know if you have any other issues!

Updated the description. Thanks for commenting.

For Stormy's mega pints they were kind enough to upload a texture only version in the optional files. For the rainbow tankard the .esp needs to be hidden/deleted

The rest don't have plugins as they are just mesh/texture replacers
