Hi there, I really like to get more varienty in my game, but I'm not a CACO user personally. So what would happen if I get the 2.0 version without it ? Will it still work somehow or do I have to use the old 1.2 version ?
How difficult would it be to patch this mod with the CACO/Bruma/rare curios patch from Teabag/Fudgemuppet I wonder. I would assume it would just be making sure the ingredients and select food items from that mod win over the same ones from this mod and just make sure the recipes from this mod reference the food from bruma patch? Thinking about dabbling into making a personal patch to help learn how to do it.
If you do make a personal patch, you should definitely share it! Assuming no one else does, I'll probably eventually tackle it (it's just a matter of finding the time).
I don’t think it would be terribly difficult. The conflicting items are onions, pumpkins, and pasties for sure, and possibly a handful of others.
You would just need to edit the leveled list records to remove my versions and edit my COBJ records to point to the BS or CACO versions. BS Bruma also adds pasties so you would need to edit my SWAP file and DISTR file to prevent mine from showing up.
And the same for whatever other food conflicts. It shouldn’t be too difficult and would likely be a good way to get into patch making and modding if you’re new.
I know this post is several months old, but just wanted to state that I would absolutely leap to download a Gourmet-based version of this mod--I completely scrapped CACO from my load order just this month and switched to Apothecary + Gourmet instead; and while I absolutely adore the food and ingredients in ESO, I don't love them enough to deal with that massive pile of compatibility issues again.
Apologies, I did get about half of the patch done, e.g. about half of the new foods and recipes have Gourmet effects and requirements. But then I was away from my computer for about 6 months and now I’m starting flight training which is taking up a significant portion of my time. I will try and upload the unfinished patch when I have time and if anyone wanted to can finish it and I’ll upload that.
OK say hypothetically I was breaking the rules and wanted to replace your general food and veggies mod with this larger bundle mid-game…on a scale of 1 to absolute idiot, how bad would that be?
( This would be the previous version on XBOX, so CACO wouldn’t apply as an requirement)
Removed SPID file as it didn't make much sense for bandits to be carrying exotic foods
Yeah, it made even less sense for the mannequins in the LOTD Dragonborn Gallery safehouse's crafting room to have food items at all, but they still did.
And if those mannequins had them, I can only imagine ALL of them probably have them.
As if Skyrim's mannequins weren't terrifying enough already, what with how they move around....
Also, is a Survival Mode patch still needed with this new version? The existing one is now under Old Files, so I figure that either means it isn't necessary anymore, or it just doesn't work with this version and a new one needs to be made.
Yeah, the SPID file just distributed to all NPCs, which the mannequins are considered as such.
The survival patch will need to be updated since it only covers about 2/3 of the foods and hasn't been updated for quite some time. Anyone is free to do this, but since I don't use survival mode I won't be updating it.
After seeing the food diversity mod I was wondering if I could learn to do something similar with this mod and mealtime and other food mods and OMG I am SOOOO happy you added the in world randomization to it! I am so excited to try this in game. Thank you!
