  • This mod is the standalone version of the Riekling Ice-Carved Steed, originally released in my Frost Coursers mod (LE / SE-AE). If you have the mentioned mod installed, you already have the Riekling Ice-Carved Steed in your game and you don't need to download this mod which only adds the mentioned creature and no other creatures contained in the original mod;
  • Obviously you should not use this mod together with the Frost Coursers mod mentioned above, since the latter already adds Riekling Ice-Carved Steeds to your game, and using them at the same time will double the amount of the mentioned mount in your game, in addition to other possible problems;

  • If you use, like and value my work, please consider giving an endorsement. I've worked hard for years to offer you the best of me for free, and the only thing I ask in return is this gesture, which increases my relevance and engagement on Nexus, and motivates me to continue;
  • I do not inspect or have any influence over translations of my mods (including those linked directly on my pages), nor do I have any power over patches or add-ons made to my content. So, before using any unofficial add-ons for my mods, make sure they conform to the latest version of my official release, and never use these if they don't. The same applies to Xbox ports;
  • In addition to the Nexus, you can also find me on:

"Ice-Carved Steeds are curious magical constructions. Goblin-kin have a natural affinity with Elves, and tend to admire and be subservient to them. High Elves are known to use Goblins in combat, and likewise, Snow Elves trained and used Rieklings in ancient times. These in turn worshiped them, and placed them among their primitive pantheon. With the end of the Snow Elves, the Rieklings eventually dispersed, creating their own culture as a patchwork of diverse cultures, some aligning with the Frost Giants, especially the kingdom of Karstaag, but in general they retained their legends from generation to generation about the "almost divine" Snow Elves, riding on their horses of pure ice and heading for battle on their ivory carriages.

As scavengers and collectors that they are, they often try to reproduce that
symbolic image by building horse figures on ice, and adorning them with bones, wood, metal, and whatever else they find. You can even find groups of Rieklings worshiping these figures in some specific places in Solstheim, and although not particularly well versed in powerful magic, some rare magically gifted Rieklings do exist, capable of animating these figures and giving them life. These are not, however, the Frost Mares they try to recreate, but only badly carved figures of ice and junk, animated by the soul of a mundane creature, usually a horse, that some Riekling wizard has managed to capture. However, they are considerably rare nowadays as well, not only because of the scarcity of Riekling wizards, but also because for a long time there have been no more horses on Solstheim,
after the departure of the Empire."

A former monster hunter, now a dedicated scholar, he is planned to be released as an NPC in late 2022/early 2023, doing the same job in-game as my descriptions do on Nexus.)

Tecnhical info: The creation of this mount is highly symbolic and deeply religious to the Rieklings, although today most of these idols are only inert figures, given the general Rieklings' inability to animate them. You can however find the spell to summon one of these Ice-Carved Steeds near the chest in Frossel's cave in Solstheim. In the same place you can find some rieklings worshiping a similar inert idol, which pulls a carriage, simulating the ancient carriage of the legendary Snow Prince, the last Snow Elf monarch of Solstheim.  It works similarly to Arvak, it can be killed, but can be summoned again as many times as you wish. The horse is particularly stronger and braver in combat than normal horses, dealing slightly more damage, especially elemental ice damage, and being more aggressive in battle. However, they have a slower initial sprint than a normal horse and take longer to slow down and shift directions, but nothing too significant. On the other hand, its stamina regenerates faster and has the advantage of having more HP, which also regenerates, although nowhere near Shadowmere's HP and health regeneration speed. Ice-carved Steeds are slower than a normal horse but have the mentioned advantage of having more resistance and faster regeneration, so they can sprint for longer periods. Arvak, however, remains the fastest horse, and Shadowmere the strongest. The Ice-carved Steeds are summoned for 1 minute, but if you're mounted on them, they won't disappear until you dismount.

- 1 new creature: Riekling Ice-Carved Steed;

- 1 new spells to summon the mentioned creature as mount.

(OBS- If by chance when installing several of Mihail's mods at the same time you are asked about files overwriting those of other Mihail mods or other authors mods, don't worry because they are just the same files shared between mods. I recommend that on these occasions always give preference to the files contained in my mods, and among mine always give preference to the mod you are installing last.)

The Mihail Monsters and Animals series aims to create and make available to the community the most complete set of creatures for TES 5: Skyrim, implemented in an immersive and unique way, with respect to the pillars of lore. Instead of pathetically just throwing models and textures in the game reusing 100% vanilla mechanics, the creatures made by Mihail have uniqueness and extreme zeal in their idealization and implementation, which will provide you with an experience that you have never had before in this area.

Mod Author: Mihail- Ice-carved Steed is based on a vanilla riekling ice-carved "statue", re-modeled and animated by me, also high quality re-texture of the textures of the vanilla clutter attached to the "statue" on vanilla (the re-texture affects just my animated version, not the original inert statue), spell, effects and game implementation.
