From what I can tell it's coded so that only the Soul Trap spell and enchantment allow for creating fragments. If it's any other effect, even if it's an enchantment or spell with a soul trap functionality, it won't work.
As far as I can tell... - Bound Weapons (even) with the Soul Stealer perk cannot fill star fragments. - Umbra cannot fill star fragments. (It's totally understandable if that isn't given a patch.) - Oh, and the plugin could probably be turned into an ESL-flagged ESP so that it doesn't have to take up a full load order slot. Whether you wish to act on any of those things is, of course, up to you. Great mod, by the way. Have a nice day.
The practical upshot of this, I suspect, is that you can trap multiple souls instead of just having one. That would make enchanting with the Star (either version) work much better.
Personally, I debate the need to make it valueless unless that reflects how Azura's gift of the white souls is just that, a gift you can share but not profit from, while the black star fragments cannot be sold since potential buyers fear attracting Azura's wrath. (Incidentally, I absolutely loathe economy nerfing and find people making things like properties simply cost more/enough is more than enough to justify profit motive! Scaling for potion prices need not even be discussed, those and item enchantment prices are nerfed the other way so no merchant can afford them. Odd Towhard will screw you both ways, Future Bandit.)
Oh, I have to ask if there's any way to make player mining of soul geodes in Blackreach and all give better than Petty? Since better gems exist, better gems exist. Quod ergo demondstratum.
Sorry I'm not exactly sure what you're asking here. It's been awhile since I played. I just started playing again and so I ported the my mod so i could play with it again. I don't remember where blackreach is or soul geodes are. Is my mod somehow interfering with the soul geode mechanic?
