❄️ You might think this is inspired by Disney Frozen and you would be half correct! (Probably because of the music in the 2nd preview vid too. I just can't resist putting Frozen songs in one of them, ha!) Beside many winter or Christmas-themed fantasy settings in general, another big inspiration for the mod comes from various real life ice festivals, with the lighting and color palette of the ice and everything!
This spell pack is a very fancy and romantic take on ice magic. I personally always imagine an ice prince/princess type character using them. What kind of character do you have in mind for these? ☃️
❄️ Boreal Touch is an Expert level spell! I just noticed it showing as Adept. I'll fix this asap. (Edit: it's fixed now in the update.)
Your mods have the best visuals and this one is not an exception!
But there are some (minor) technical issues as from my testing.
Out of 8 spells, only 3 are recognized by SkyUI as frost spells. 5 spells are shown as generic destruction spells without an element, not sure why. Despite this, some of those spells even benefit from Augmented Frost perks. But Enchanted Snowball and Mirage Cloak for sure don't.
Boreal Breath has insane range and can easily hurt unintended targets behind your actual target some 30 seconds after casting. (I haven't tested, but I would guess that Mind Terror from Frostbitten Dreams has the same problem)
Winter's Grace tends to break and often fails to apply frost resistance to the player or allies (I made sure not to have magic resistance or absorption during testing). Applying weakness to frost to enemies seems more reliable.
Boreal Nova is instant-cast and is very spammable (despite being very powerful) if you have a lot of magicka or destruction gear. A long charge time or a cooldown could balance it better IMO, but I suspect a cooldown is somewhat hard to implement.
Frost Spirit sort of belongs to Conjuration instead of Destruction, but that and the previous paragraph are purely a matter of taste :)
Thanks for this! After playing around some more with these spells I noticed some of the things you listed as well! They're not game breaking or anything so maybe if I got a lot of time off I'll fix the ones that I can!
This isn't showing up anywhere in the leveled lists for me.. anyone else had that problem?? Do i need to wait a few days in-game for it to start populating? i've visited different vendors and these spell tomes just aren't there
Also, i'm level 25 in my current playthrough so i'd assume as least some of the lower level spells would be showing up now?
I have the same problem, although I've only visited a few vendors. Level 40, with multiple school trees close to 90. I have some other magic-altering mods installed, but all the modded spell tomes always showed up properly before despite that.
Will try to wait some more, I guess. Or, perhaps, they don't appear on vendors, only in the wild?
I have had the spells show up in leveled lists before (Just to say.. it has happened, and should be possible), Bought them from Faralda... Maybe one of the predated mods are in the leveled lists
But.. now I can't get them to show up either. Hit the same wall of them not showing up
Hm I read somewhere that if you have multiple mods that edit levelled lists you need to use wyrebash to forward those changes... honestly I didn't bother with it cause it sounded like a hassle - but maybe someone more knowledgeable than me knows whether this could be the cause of it and how to fix it...
in the sample video after 2 minutes... still undecided whether to get excited about the song or feel bad for getting excited about the song while she kills the guards...
It looks sensational, I come from a port in LE, great job, I was more excited because I thought it was fantasy magic style, but it looks like it's for fighting. They still look great....
You should be able to give yourself the spell tome with the mod AddItemMenu. with that installed, use one of the items it gives you to search for the name of the esp containing the spells that you want and it will show you any item added by that mod. (iceblossom.esl in this case, so if you just search for iceblossom that should work).
can also use the console to search for each spell manually with the 'help' command, but this is kind of a pain in the butt so additemmenu is typically the way to go.
the way I do it manually is open the console and look for the spell, like this [help "frost spirit" 4] (don't use the brackets but DO use the quotations if the spell is more than one word).
this will then spam the console with a bunch of stuff and you will have to use the page up/page down keys to find the tome, should have the word BOOK in all caps near the beginning of the line. this is normally near the top of the results so keep hitting page up if you don't see it initially.
once you find the spell tome, use the command [player.additem xxxxxxxx 1] where xxxxxxx is the ID of the tome, and the 1 at the end is just how many of that item that you want.
Sorry if that was kinda long but better to over-explain than under, imo. hope it helps! ^_^
I'm having a problem where my Skyrim just won't start if any of your magic mods are installed, like I run my skyrim and nothing happens, fixes when I remove them. Can you help me out with this?
I would love for you to make a spell set for magic like from Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha. It would be awesome to unleash a Starlight Breaker on a hoard of enemies.

Like having the IDs
