Vortex flags the ESP file that comes with this mod as incompatible. I had a lot of trouble getting the game to start with this mod. I loaded the mod into the creation kit and saved it so the form id will be correct with SSE and that got rid of the incompatible flag in Vortex and the game loaded just fine but the armor was not in the game. I just downloaded the mod again and reinstalled it with the incompatible flag and the game did start, although it took a lot loner to get to the load screen. But the game seems to be running fine and the armor is back in the game.
