If you encounter error messages from ReShade, please follow these steps:
1. Open the ReShade menu with Shift+F2. 2. Switch to the settings tab. 3. Make sure that under "effect search path" only the path with the "reshade-shaders" folder in it is given there. If your Skyrim SE main folder is also written in there, please delete it so there is only the path with the "reshade-folder" left.
I want to notice that this is not a bug from my preset. It is a sporadic bug by ReShade which does not occur for everyone. It is caused by the fact that ReShade wants to compile some shader files which are not from ReShade itself but from the ENB. Another workaround is to delete all enb"...".fx files in your Skyrim SE main folder. But I highly recommend using the way shown above as you cannot delete files needed from the ENB preset accidently.
Hey guys! This ENB looks great, but didn't see many pictures of interiors and dungeon light levels, or nights for that matter. I like it being pretty dark in corners and areas without direct light, but still having bright light sources. I'm not experienced at using ENB, as before I usually just had RCRN or CoT, with ELFX, but never quite got the look I wanted from those. Especially with CoT, as it just dims the lights as well when you have the darker nights settings, which I hate.... I love the weathers though.
So, what I essentially wanna know, is how is the lighting during nights (with any of the weather mods or vanilla), and is this ENB compatible with ELFX? Never saw any confirmation on that here.
Late reply, but I recommend to look at the combination of a) Luminosity (for lighting of skyrim content) b) Reshade (for all the visuals - shader, lights), there are a few good ones based on the latest 4 (unlike this mod which seems abandoned) release on the Nexus like BlubboReShadeV7 / Blubbos or BT Reshade (the one I currently use). c) ELE - Enhanced lighting for ENB I do not use ENB at all. For me the simple DOF available is more than enough (in-game I'd not really need it, but for screenshots it is very nice).
Without extra light my game is currently very dark similar as it was when I still used ELFX.
I wanna gripe about ReShade for a moment. This has nothing to do with this mod, this mod is beautiful. Configuring ReShade, though, has been a mind boggling pain in the ass.
I followed the instructions on the mod for installing and setting up ReShade. No problems there. But when I go into the game to select the ini file, nothing happens. I could see zera.ini in the drop down menu but I could not select it by clicking on it. Likewise, I could not select it by typing the name into the field. SOMETIMES, after fiddling with the settings, I was able to enter the name into the field but, instead of opening the existing zera.ini, ReShade would attempt to create an ENTIRELY NEW preset with that name. Okay, frustrating, but I can still go into the ReShade configuration file and manually replace the DefaultPreset.ini with the zera.ini. Nope! In game, it still defaulted to the DefaultPreset.ini. So I tried completely deleting the DefaultPreset.ini file and, lo and behold, the in game menu now defaults to zera.ini BUT no effects are loaded at all. Commence hair pulling.
I'll save you all the rest of my descent into madness because I did ultimately find a fix. The ONLY way I managed to get this beautiful preset to function correctly was to leave the preset selection on DefaultPreset and just copy and paste the contents of the zera.ini preset and overwrite the DefaultPreset.ini contents. Hopefully, someone else found my experience useful.
This mod saved me from re-installing Skyrim and all my mods (of which I have too many- over 200 and I am now going through and deleting some of them) and for as much as it is annoying having to download more extraneous software to play, at least I can do it with such lovely lighting!
My problem was for some reason (I'm sure it was me mucking about with my ENBs to fix a stuttering issue) everything got FAR TOO BRIGHT.
It was ridiculous- a good example was this person's experience: https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimmods/comments/3ewbs8/why_is_my_game_so_bright/
It took well over 3 days to find the main issue, then try a whole lot of trial and error and mental screaming so THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART.
Nvm what i wrote before, further testing on my side needed
But the install instructions should be updated new versions of ENB and Reshade (seems to work well with newest ENB) Reshade install is different now - make sure to install all shaders when install asks for it U might also add that users with SKSE (which should be most p layers i guess) should select the skse loader.exe instead of the skyrimse.exe !!
The Reshade options r awsome, i just miss a good DOF now, the presets in this is either almost no DOF or full blown blur on almost all the screen
Hi, I've installed and been using this enb for a few hours now, it looks great during the day and night.
The only issue I have with it is interiors and night outside is way to dark to be practical, I like the way it looks but it is just too dark to play with.
I'm not using any weather mods, I do have ELFX installed but I've not tested the game without it as of writing this, I'll test it after I've made the post.
Could someone tell me how to make it a little lighter in these dark areas? I've got no experience with editing ENBs so some instructions for a dummie would be great.
Edit: Without ELFX the game looks pretty dull now, is there any alternative that is not super bright or dark?
I had the same problem with it being too dark to be usable at night. I use Mythical Age weathers and installed the appropriate version. It was beautiful, but also hit my performance pretty hard so I will revisit it when I next upgrade my rig.
In enbseries.ini, look for EnableDeptOfField=true & change it to false. No more blurry edges/focus effect when set to false. This is especially annoying during character creation.
