You are right, abandoned and partially unfinished. I made the mine working and gave a few npc's a basic daily routine also fixed a few gaps seeing the "void" and add/removed some stuff for my private use.
I guess I raised too many expectations. You can ask the Nexus Staff about Permissions in this specific Case, if they give green light, you can start a request or "hire" a professional Modder.
Pretty nice little castle base, i like the small little hamlet attached to the castle. that said, i am not the only the only one to report this, but all the npcs have this really uncanny looking blackface glitch which looks really bizarre, but aside from that, everything else looks nice.
Try this: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/23316 and https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/42441 Highly recommended for these "older" Mods!
Great mod concept and design unfortunately the mod appears to be too broken to be useable atm. For insatnce, NPCs with black faces, lighting and navmesh issues.
Where're the vaulted ceilings? The gate houses and their portcullises. The murder holes in the gate houses and the arrow slits. Where're the proper ramparts with machicolations and proper battlements? There're hardly any sentries too! Calling this a "proper" castle is the worst joke I've heard so far. This place lacks merlons on those walls that exist, and half of those walls aren't maintained. A proper castle wall is several meters thick at the bottom and got proper wall walks on it. A castle needs merlons on both the inside and outside of the walls not to mention being split up into several sections to make it harder to take it over. Needs a strategic advantage point on a hill, possibly one with cliffs on most sides, but it shouldn't have its walls build all the way to the edge of the cliff in case of the hill's cliffs breaking. If that's not a possibility, a huge moat with a couple of draw bridges would be a good solution. One man should be able to take on at least 10 enemies once in a fortified structure such as a castle.
I can see from your profile that you have never modded and shared. Therefore, you don't really have any right to criticize. Make your own mod if you don't like this one. And learn to ask nicely if you want something from others.
He is right though, this is definitely not realistic. It is missing pretty much all the defining parts of a castle, like battlements, murder holes, etc.
The f*#@ do some people think the average castle looks/looked like, have you never seen any (ruins) in real life? These giant fortresses that still exist in some places do not represent the actual majority, they are just so large that they were never completely destroyed or rebuilt by powerful nobles/dukes/kings, while most smaller castles did not survive long since they were very expensive to properly maintain and staff, lower nobles were often rather poor themselves. As the author states, this here is a Motte and bailey castle and it is a very realistic one. Those kinds of castles don't have any form of large walls or fancy gatehouses, towers and drawbridges, just a building (usually on a hill, often artificial) surrounded by a simple wall and palisades. And all that is in the mod, 1:1.
Firstly: I absolutely love this mod. It adds a fortification worthy of being called a player base, but doesn't have all the magical BS of most other forts. However, there seems to be a few problems; as in addition to blackfaced NPCs, the body armour textures seem to not always be there. Perhaps add a equipment change option for the guards, to aid this.
i agree, in a setting like skyrim the huge lavish player homes that so many people like to make are way out of place just sitting in the middle of nowhere screaming i have more money in my home than every individual in skyrim times a million. this mod says defensible upper-class home without crossing that line and looking out of place. 3 cheers that after all this time someone finally got close to what i personally consider to be perfect. I really hope to see this mod fully finished.
Hi, I'm confused...you have 1.2 patch in the main files section, and it says 1.0 required. But 1.0 is in the old files section, and there's a 1.1 in the main files category. I'm assuming 1.2 on its own doesn't work and I need another main file, but it seems weird for 1.0 to be in the old files section if it's actually a main file that's required. Or do I just download 1.1? Thanks!
It is not 1.2 but 1.02 that is in main file. It is probably for those who want to fix bug while still staying in 1.0. You probably want to download the 1.1 if you never download te mod. A good way to know what to dl is to look at the size of the files in the download section.

As i stated, it's basic and i am far away from what is called "skilled".
