Thanks for this. I'm not even using Woodland, but another mod for trees, and I've had black Scaly Pholiota that I couldn't find where the problem was.

If possible, can you tell me what's the technical issue?

More generally, does anyone know a texture replacer for those fungi?

The technical issue is that the mushrooms share their textures with the stumps they are attached to - WOODLAND changes the texture of the stumps but mistakenly blanks out the little circle where the image of the mushroom goes. As the background is black, this makes the game want to render it part of the alpha channel - the mushrooms are not flagged as transparent and therefore the alpha channel appears as a black, featureless texture on top of the mushroom mesh. All I've done here is taken WOODLAND's texture file and overlaid them with the vanilla stumps, cut out the mushrooms and pasted them onto the new texture. I think there's one replacer that targets the flat mushrooms specifically, but not the round ones on the rift stumps.

If another mod causes the black mushroom issue then you could do what I did - get a .dds plugin for your program of choice (I use photoshop, but there is a plugin for paint.net if I recall correctly.) and overlay the vanilla stump textures, cut out the mushrooms, paste them onto the new textures. It's a bit tricky lining them up and if you shove your face right into the shrooms I've done here there is a bit of black poking out - but the same issue is there in vanilla if you look close enough.

Thanks for the explanation. Even though this sounds simple enough, I'm not familiar at all with this kind of editing. Even comparing your texture with the one I have (from Morekvior for Myrkvior), I couldn't tell the difference, apart from the difference in tint. But since your texture works with my mod list, I'll just keep using your mod.

Anyway thanks for the mod. It's the kind of small bug that creates great annoyance :)

I took a look at Morekvior's textures and it appears to do the same thing as WOODLAND did, stump wise. If you look at the bottom section of the aspenaddon texture, theres a little mushroom octagon and a square with mushroom textures, that's missing from the Morekvior variant, just as it was missing from WOODLAND originally.

The permissions for Morekvior are not as open as WOODLAND, though, but you could inform the author(s) that they've had a mushroom mishap.

Thanks for going through all this trouble. I couldn't tell the difference between yours and the original texture because the mushroom is masked. I was really confused until I invert the alpha channel. Well I'm still confused as to why it's transparent that way, but I guess that's how Skyrim works. Anyway I've copy-pasted the missing part and it's working fine, thanks to you.

I went to the Morekvior mod page, but it turns out the bug was already reported. Someone even explained the issue, though it wasn't fixed, so I'm glad I have it working properly now.

This was really bothering me. Thank you!

Edit: Also, as a suggestion you might want to replace the name 'mushroom' in you mod's name for the specific words Moria Tapinella/Scaly Pholiota. That way your mod will be easier to find since most probably who has this problem will make a search by those terms.
