For those of you looking for, or concerned by some of the hate on this mod try this combo out. I also say that Grimwolve68 is correct in that most problems are attributable to mod conflicts or load order. I have used several other of hyde606's offerings both in LE and SE for years, NEVER had a problem.
Great work - all your mods - Riverwood, Companions, Brotherhood works with no problems in AE, USSWEP, with CBBE or CBBE 3Ba, thank you ! Can you make a mod for changing in female for mercenaries ? Thats will be great ???!??
This mod crashes game while trying to just load. Disabled it until mod is fixed and updated. Now with mod disabled no crashes and game loads. The advantage of down-loading only one mod at a time, you then know which mod is the problem.
I've been using this mod for a long time, over multiple builds with varying load orders, and I submit that the problem likely exists in your load order, not in this mod.
There seems to be a problem with the gender-swap replacers being hostile. I have a test file where I keep clones of all my followers in one area so I can do tests concerning meshes and textures. I always open this save file with tai on. Well, I had a hard time placing the replacers because even with the AI turned off, they would randomly run up and start attacking each other! I resolved this by placing them really far apart. However, I just now tried to install a follower from another mod. No matter where I place her, the replacer followers from this mod either start running around OR they run up and punch her! And keep in mind, they're doing this with the AI turned OFF. Aside for greetings, bump dialogue, and dialogue for scenes that automatically play, I've NEVER seen an NPC do ANYTHING with the AI turned off! I can't imagine what's causing this. It can't be a faction issue, because even if you spawn monsters in nobody fights unless you turn the AI back on. Also, in the bug section people are apparently having an issue with the housecarl for Markarth suddenly becoming hostile if you buy that house in Markarth.
I've only recently installed them, so I've never gotten to test them out in an actual play-through. And keep in mind, this is only with the gender-swap replacers. Lydia, for instance, has yet to give me any problems.
I did some further testing. Specifically, it appears that Gretta, Arlene, and Jordis are the ones that are aggressive when the AI is off. I also turned the AI on, just to see what would happen. All of them, including Valentina, were hostile to me. Lydia is the only one that wasn't. And no, I don't have bounties in any hold on my test file. I should also note that I don't have any others from this mod installed beyond the ones I mentioned.
edit: I did a bit of further testing. This time, I looked at their files through xedit and compared them to the originals they were replacing. Turns out, none of them a part of the factions that the housecarls they replace are. However, setting them to the correct factions only fixed Jordis. It made no difference for the others. I'm just going to uninstall those until this is fixed, because I'm at a loss as to what is causing this. If I were to guess, it may have something to do with the fact that the mods change their gender of the npc they're replacing.
Using CBBE, with a custom body, and Bijin skin (skin texture mod) and was having major issues with all the other housecarl replacers (besides bijin warmaidens).
This one worked, with zero issues, and they look great, good job.
Sorry if it's obvious... I'm unsure if CBBE is both body mod and skin texture (it comes with it's own skin textures), or do i require a separate skin mod as well for Housecarl Replacer? This looks lovely! (If so, any good CBBE skin textures...i've struggled to find any better than the texture that comes with it?)

Not to everybody's liking, but I'm using the Mature Skin Texture which has a CBBE version.
Look at the file size and things will become clear to you. In case they don't: first the main file and then the No Warpaint add-on (like it says atop the files themselves, by the way)...

The advantage of down-loading only one mod at a time, you then know which mod is the problem.
Older mods tend to have more issues apparently
I was going to get this mod but reading all the comments and also testing it out.
there are a lot of huge deal-breaker issues.
hostility from followers for no reason even if you do not have any crimes on your sheet.
Followers all but one depending on if you are a criminal or not will become annoyed and hostile towards you.
I have even had guard NPCS attack me thinking I was a thief there were times they attacked other random NPCS for no reason
the coding is dated I could mess with it but then it might cause problems with the original creator.
