Journeyman 1.1.0 comes with a couple of new features.
You can now fast travel with god mode toggled on in the console. This feature makes it easier to do development work and debugging on a list with Journeyman installed.
There is an optional setting in the ini called bEnableOnlyOnSurvivalEnabled. If this is set to true, Journeyman will only restrict your ability to fast travel if Survival Mode is enabled. This setting makes Journeyman easier to use in modlists and other setups where Survival Mode is considered an optional part of the experience.
If Gourmet is installed, Journeyman will distribute 1-3 travel packs to all innkeepers.
Hey everyone! Is there a way to let another mod handle fast travel without needing a travel pack? There’s this mod, Wizarding Traversal Magic, that adds a spell called Apparition Travel. It uses the base fast travel mechanic but disables the passage of time while the effect is active. I’m wondering if there’s a way to make it work with Journeyman so that Apparition Travel can function without the travel pack in the player’s inventory. Any ideas? Well, exept using TGM every time, haha

With "original" survival mode, what always broke me was having to run all the way back through Castle Volkihar, after exiting the Soul Carin (long annoying walk out if you can't fast travel from the balcony).
Adding Ferries in can help and I did at one time really like and use Survival Horse Fast travel (very unknown small hack mod). Although when getting by with that one Castle Volkihar is still a pain in the butt, unless you can summon a horse on the balcony to get out w/o going back through the whole castle.

Thanks for updating. I've been using this on 1.6.640 since 2023 and no issues. Then it suddenly stopped working and I couldn't work out why. The update fixed that.
Sorry about the delay on getting this update out. I never could reproduce the bug, so it took us a while to fix it, and once we had a fixed version out, it took me a while to get around to updating it. Let us know if you have any problems with the update, I should be a little more active here in the next few weeks and I will try to get some bug fixes out.
I've got teleportation spells in Mysticism and Pilgrim. Mysticism has Mark and Recall, Second Mark and Recall, and a teleport spell to the College. Pilgrim has spells that teleport you to the five major temples, aka the five major cities. There are also a few other one-off location-based spells in Simonrim, like the one in Sorcerer that teleports you to Valerica's Study.
Yeah, this journeyman is an amazing mod...but after 150 hours or so with it it started to bother me hahaha skyrim quests are really annoying to do without fast travel...if I had more time to play maybe I would keep it, I realized I was kinda cheating( I would teleport to my houses through NFF mcm everytime) maybe if there was a mod to just being able to teleport to my houses I would try, but anyway haha
I would be interested in a harsher set of requirements but I'm having a little bit of a hard time coming up with ideas for what items it should require. It's hard to require food or drinks because it would require a separate recipe for any combination of food or drink that you wanted to use.
Unfortunately can't seem to get it to work always got "Fast travel is currently unavailable from this location". But if starfrost for some reason make my game unable to fast travel even if I change survival improved ini file. Most likely there's incompatibility somewhere with another unknown mod.
If someone know a fix I'd appreciate it if anyone can tell, thanks.
Are you using Linux? I've come to the same problem and after some troubleshooting, it seems that the problem just happens when I'm running on a Linux environment (Steam Deck)
there seems to be a problem with "Survival mode improved". As soon as you install "Survival mode improved" fast travel no longer really works on the Steam deck
I was getting the same message/issue on Windows, with Skyrim version 1.6.1170. I tracked down an updated plugin from Newrite on Simon's Discord and it fixed all my fast travel issues right away. Here's the direct link to the message if you need it.
I was having this exact problem with survival mode improved installed on desktop linux, uninstalled journeyman, and suddenly the SMI ini file setting for fast travel was respected. reinstalled journeyman and it broke again.

This solution worked on my Steam Deck! Thanks a lot for bringing this up, now I can go back to the game since Journeyman and the Simonrim survival suite is kinda of a must-have for me
I also had the "Fast travel is currently unavailable from this location" problem and the link litbeep provided fixes it.
For the people who's trying to open the link you need to join the mod author discord server which is on SimonMagus's nexus profile page. Then the link that litbeep provided should direct you the message of the fix.
I'm on Windows 11, Skyrim AE 1170 Steam version, I triggered the exact same bug in the middle of a playthrough and I cannot ever fast travel after that, even when I started a new save. The dll from the discord link solved this for me. Really hope this bug could be fixed officially or that dll from discord could be published on nexus.

Could try this. I've never used it but looks quite good.
It seems it's going to get easy after a while to just stock the items and keep making travel packs.
