Thanks for your interest in my work! Check out my Discord Server if you want to keep up with what I'm doing next. I also have a Patreon if you'd like to follow me and support me there.
Journeyman 1.1.0 comes with a couple of new features.
You can now fast travel with god mode toggled on in the console. This feature makes it easier to do development work and debugging on a list with Journeyman installed.
There is an optional setting in the ini called bEnableOnlyOnSurvivalEnabled. If this is set to true, Journeyman will only restrict your ability to fast travel if Survival Mode is enabled. This setting makes Journeyman easier to use in modlists and other setups where Survival Mode is considered an optional part of the experience.
If Gourmet is installed, Journeyman will distribute 1-3 travel packs to all innkeepers.
I wonder if this could be combined with Regional Fast Travel in a way, so that if you are fast-travelling a small distance, you won't need a travel pack.
I'm weird, I don't mind running from Whiterun to Solitude, but I hate having to run from the Western Watch tower back to Dragonsreach every time I kill Mirmulnir.
In any case, this mod does exactly what it says, and is simple and streamlined from a user standpoint. Kudos!
To the people complaining about 1.5.97 incompatibility: The source code is available to the public and it's just a matter of re-compiling for 1.5.97. I'm no programmer but if anyone has any know-how in that area they can just do it.
Plus, there are alternatives to this mod, like Horizon Zero Dawn Fast Travel, that don't use a DLL file.
Ah, I suppose I may have been under the wrong impression. Though I imagine it's still possible to change the required hooks to use the address for 1.5.97 from the address library with CommonLibSSE-NG. Though obviously some testing will be required.
I enjoyed this mod and appreciate its execution. That said, I no longer wish to use it, preferring to restore the original fast travel feature of the original. I could find no MCM entry for the mod that would allow me to disable it. So I thought that deactivating it in the mod list in Vortex would do the trick. It did not.
FWIW, I installed the Journeyman mod as part of a collection, specifically the Gate to Sovngarde collection. I am using Skyrim AE and installed the Gate collection about two weeks ago.
Please advise how to deactivate the mod to allow fast travel as in vanilla. And thank you for your excellent work.
I don't experience the crashing you're describing. It might be related to GtS rather than the mod (maybe there is something built off Journeyman?). If you're not using Survival Mode, you can just edit the ini file to make Journeyman only trigger when Survival Mode is on and then keep playing with it installed.
With starfrost + survival mode improved bDisableFastTravel=1 there is no message and no travel occurs. Set bDisableFastTravel=0 then "Fast travel is currently unavailable from this location".
I'm sorry i read the description and didn't see anything about it but are they supposed to be limited use because i use mine once or twice and it disappears and if so what console command spawns more?
Hi, I’m getting EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION crash right before the main menu, and the crash log mentions Journeyman.dll as the cause. I am using the most recent version of the game, so I wanted to ask you: Is this mod is not compatible with the most recent version? If so, there’s no pressure to update, I just wanted to know if that was the problem. In any case, thanks for the mod! :)
I'm getting the same error on the latest version and I don't have OSTIM installed. Can't figure it out myself so I'll just wait. I think the mod author is pretty active.
Hi and thanks for your mods. I wished to try this one too but I CTD on new game (last AE update) and the error pop up says Journeyman's the culprit. I have set it to run only with Survival but I read you suggest it may be because of Engine Fixes: so what would you advise to change, as I am using it as well? Thank you!
@SimonMagnus I will be blunt: While I love your mods, I also use SSE 1.5.97. You are now among the few and growing number of mod authors who have told people to "move on" and update their game. I'll say this... Is it really that hard to backport this mod to 1.5.97? I will play my copy of Skyrim how I see fit. Whether you agree with that or not is your prerogative. I just play the game to have fun. Being told to "move on" and forcibly update my game is not fun. I was very much looking forward to trying this mod, but like the latest versions of Arthmoor's and CEO's mods, I'll have to go without it. I apologize if I sound rude with my commenting. I don't mean it that way. I thank you for creating mods in the first place, and I wish you well in whatever you do net.
No one is obligated to make mods for any version of the game. Why do we go through this every time there's a large update? If the divides in the modding community didn't exist over what version every last person is playing and everyone did, in fact, move on, there would be much more compatibility.
No one is obligated to upgrade either, but you should just accept that YOU made that choice and not feel entitled to a back port, unless you plan to do it yourself.
Open perms and (un)common courtesy would make the whole modding community a better place. :)
@SimonMagnus Is it possible to use this mod if I use the Best of Both Worlds Downgrade Patcher? Theoretically, this would only downgrade the game's code to 1.5.97, allowing me to keep all the Creation Club content installed. Also, I apologize for my odd rant the other day. I am very resistant to change.
is that skyui crafting menu just a part of the mod or another mod?? man I really need that I know for the SkyUI for vr, the craftng menu is pretty much the most cluttered mess and I had to revert it to vanilla
It's Constructible Object Custom Keyword System. Or COCKS for short. And there is a VR file available. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/81409

You can craft more.
I don't think the fog/map thing is related to this mod.
Im on 1.5.97 and im also CTD on load.
You're the one confusing everyone lmao.
