No, Females and males have different face textures. I have covered the male eyeliner in my male skin texture mod.

Not sure why the eyeliner is wonky/uneven, the right eyeliner is thicker than the left, could it be the high poly head...?

Sure, if it edits uvma, then its most likely the issue, like this one:
      https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/90082

Even the facesculptng can be an issue, if it's a non simmetrical sculpt and one eye is made smaller than the other.

Thanks, I don't use that mod you linked, so it must be the high poly head.
I'll try with vanilla head and see how it looks.

I am using an highpoly head too in pics, but prbably not the same one you use. it all depends on who made the head or the facepreset. changing in uvmaps, alsways mess up textures.
Maybe the mod i liked actually fixes the issue relative to the head, but i doubt it, it seems like it edits it a bit too much.

I'm using the latest v1.4 high poly head, I'll do a bit more testing and see if I can figure it out.
Just to say that all my characters start out with the game provided vanilla presets.

I use a different head, made by a different author, long time ago for LE, and vanilla heads.
All mods have always been developed for vanilla heads.

Also there's to take into consideration the eye shape. Some shapes for eyes, may distort the texture, like it hapens for the normalmap, but thats an issue thats built in in skyrim chargen system.
the worst offenders are imperial races, but i have specifically tested this mod on them too, as you can see in picture 3.

Oh I know it's a problem at my end and not your mod.

i mean, if it's a problem at skyrim chargen files, it's not really on your eng, it's just Skyrim. it's normal that having these sort of facegen distortions to generate faces, the mod may not look as good on let's say ORCS, or some Elven eyes that change the eye area. it's a really delicate situation to edit eye related files, especially with many mods affecting the same thing.

The same happens with eye normalmaps, some look fine, thenyou change eye shape, and you start to notice thigns :\

if you send a pic, maybe i can help more.
