Hey everyone! Here's the latest retexture in this series which covers the nightingale set and weapons. I also added a capeless version of the set after getting requests for it.

If you used Frankly HD's version of this set and want to switch to my version, I recommend uninstalling Frankly's HD version, instead of simply overwriting it. That mod makes some changes to the meshes (mainly the cubemaps) but my textures were made with the vanilla cubemaps in mind. But it won't break your game if you load both, the main issue will be the scabbard and fingers not matching my textures. Outside of that my retexture is compatible with all mods that work with the vanilla nightingale armors, such as bodyslides.

Next up on the list is dawnguard! And after that one, we'll finally get to what a lot of people have been requesting / waiting for: dwemer!

If you want to see what I intend to cover and in what order (just a rough outline, it's always subject to change), I posted my To-do list on my Patreon. The list is public so no need to become a Patron to see it.

Thank you all and I hope you'll keep following me along this journey to retexture every armor sets and weapons!

Please note that if you are not using Improved closedfaced helmets, the glowing eyes from vanilla are still there

The black is too much that it ate all the details, it's even pitch black with certain weather and lightning.
Maybe an alt version with reduced blackness is ideal for all lighting setting, hope you can consider it.
I also have minor problem with the glove, somehow the fingers have different color than my body texture, does this mod have its own texture for fingers?

I'm considering doing a brighter/less dark optional version. My version looks exactly as I want it to in my game but it does looks too dark in people who either don't use ENB or use a darker setup

The fingers looking weird is a vanilla bug with the gloves mesh, which I didn't modify

Glad you consider doing that, can't wait when it realized

I see, can't be helped then since it's a vanilla bug, or maybe you can do workaround by adding optional full glove mesh, jk :D.

Anyway great job on all your retextures, appreciate it.

Wish there was a torn shoulder cape similar to some mods I've seen before on LE version of skyrim

I am using your Nightingales Armor texture mod atm, and I can't seem to get improved closefaced helmets mod to work along side the textures. I placed the improved closefaced helmets mod below your texture mods, and Nightingale hoods still produce the vanilla mesh. Same if I place it above your Nightingale textures. I checked the FOMOD when installing, and there isn't any options for closefaced either, but I don't think that would really matter.

Just wanted to ask how would I go to fix this

My mod doesn’t contain anything that would clash with improved closefaced helmets. it seems like you have a conflict somewhere else

I figured it out just now, so yes, it was a mod conflict that I didn't anticipate. Thank you :D

I have the same problem. It's already May 2024, but maybe you still remember which mod you had a conflict with? Maybe I have one too...

D: sorry, I haven't been able to continue Skyrim due to my IRL schedule, but I'm pretty sure one of the conflicts was another texture mod that was overriding my Nihgtingale's. I'm pretty sure my issue was with that, I don't remember specifically which mod however.

just double make sure to not have any texture mods that could be overriding ur Nightingale's, I guess. or maybe closedfaced has a patch for something else, that you do not have? Sorry, that's all the help I can think of rn

Hi I was wondering if anyone can help me with an issue I seem to be having. I cannot seem to get the "no cloak" option to work on a female character. The textures themselves apply, but the cloak is not removed. If I `showracemenu` and change my sex from female to male, the cloak is gone. Swapping back to female and the cloak is back. I also don't have any options for this in Bodyslide either. Not sure what I am doing wrong. I install using Vortex if that helps.

Edit: I went with Vortex's recommendation is loading this before UNP. This allows the armor to follow my BodySlide settings which matches my characters body and other armor, but the cloak is not removed. If I load this after UNP then the cloak is removed, but the body does not follow my BodySlide settings.

I'm not super well-versed in modding. Is there any way to correct this? To have no cloak and my BodySlide settings?

Same here. Tried everything I can think of but the females still have a cape. Using CBBE and tried loading the mod after that. No joy. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: Okay. I just dragged and dropped the female textures files overwriting the ones in the mod folder and that seems to have worked to get rid of the cape. Not seeing anything that overwrote them but notgoing to argue with it lol. Love the mod :)

Does this still respect the BodySlide settings for your character?

you would need a specific bodyslide conversion for it to work properly. My permissions are opened for anyone to do it, but no one has done so yet. I don't use CBBE, HIMBO, etc. So I don't know how to do it myself.

True. No bodyslide files for CBBE so it didn't do anything for that. Sorry. Was just posting so anyone else with the cape problem would know
what to try when loading it after your body mod doesn't work.

Edit: Had a whole post showing how to remove the cape and turns out there is a toggle in the bodyslide menu.

Something that is a nice compromise if you can't get it working with females is to instead add SMP physics to the female capes but keep the capeless look on the males. Personally I think this looks more suitable for both. Simply download this mod:
      https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/35349?tab=files

Then delete the 'm' folder in this mod folder, and it should keep the capeless look for males. Then run bodyslide on anything nightingale and viola, you should have SMP physics for females capes too. You will probably have to run bodyslide for the normal nightingale outfits first, and then the cape from this mod after.

Obviously you'd need SMP mod already for this but it worked great for me.

Everything is too black. It would be better to update the standard dark gray color.

Hello Xavbio. Since you add Environment Maps to your chest, gauntlets and bow textures, it is possible to make gilded and silvered variants with cubemaps.

Can you add "proper" Environment Maps for boots, hood, sword and scabbard? Thus, we can use the gilded and silvered variants as we wish. It would be great.

I did not add cubemaps. That’s how the vanilla meshes are set up. I don’t like to change how meshes are set up because it reduces compatibility with other mods using vanilla texture paths
