I really like your Age of Slience mods and thank you for them. but I've run into a bit of an issue. None of the quests seem to progress for me. Like, Gallus will only stay in Whiterun, and Percy will only stay at Orphan Rock. Any suggestions on a fix or am I doing something wrong? I really want to see how these stories end.
Was a solution ever found for this? I am having the same issue, Gallus has been in Whiterun for over a year now! lol The Stendarr's Devout one progressed fine and I've finished it, but I can't seem to encounter Gallus, Percy, or R'ashi in their second locations. I've exhausted their dialogue until all the options are grey, in the case of Percy and R'ashi they will not speak to me anymore, Gallus keeps acting like it's our first meeting though. I wonder what could be interfering?
yes using NMM community edition. I have tried both vortex and MO2, but didn't get on with vortex at all and ran into huge problems trying to run reqtificator for requiem with MO2 - something about the virtual file folder? this is first time I've had this problem with NMM community edition, and it could be the path instead of the length of the name. The other shattered add ons installed just fine.
I am having this exact issue. EDIT: Been modding games for over 10 years with NMM, never run into this before. Your other Shattered Skyrim mods are working fine. But this one isn't for some reason.
First of all, I recommend switching to Vortex or MO2, either works, NMM is incredibly outdated. Second, you should just be able to download the file manually, rename it to something shorter then install it using NMM
First off, the problem is indeed with the filename length. Microsoft Windows operating systems employ a 260 character filename limit which includes the names of the all the folders that the file is installed to or stored in. So Windows doesn't just count "long-ass filename" in the length, it instead includes "C:\Steam\steamapps\common\data\long-ass filename." Windows has been like this since at least the days of Windows 98, so it's been around a long time.
To mitigate this, open it up in 7-zip or WinRAR, find the "Data" folder, and repackage THAT under "Forgotten Knowledge" and install that in the place of the original, and it works fine.
Second, a personal gripe: NMM Community Edition is not "incredibly outdated." It is regularly updated and maintained via its own Github page, the most recent update being on June 16th of this year.
Also, contrary to popular myth, it can handle a lot more than the "30 mods" claim that some of its detractors like to trot out (my current load order is more than 500 mods, installed with NMM... and while the mod manager itself can be sluggish, the game doesn't suffer at all).
I think the issue with the mod managers not being able to load it is because the file name is so long, it needs to be under 260 characters apparently. It is also double filed in two files under the same name, your other mods are working fine but they don't have the double file issue. That normally isn't an issue though but a lot of old Mod managers hate it as they can't figure out they need to open the second file. Like a monkey peeling a banana only to find another unpeeled banana inside.
EDIT: Yeah no, it is 100% that the file name is too long, windows wont even let it be in the recycle folder, it had to delete it out right as "The file name is too large for the bin"
Edit2: Okay renaming it and rezipping it works fine. Or doing it manually. Sadly it is still dependant on USSEP even though the base mod removed it, so it fails to load now for me.
it Seems your Protected Flag might only be enabled once recruited by the DB. otherwise hes not Safe in Anyway. was in Worldeater and he was long dead in Whiterun already (tho apparently he took a small chunk outa the Dragon priested Farangar by his health bar when i got to him)
World Eater adds Dragons and Dragon Priests into the cities. If Gallus was in these cities, wouldn't that cause major problems? Haven't tested it yet mind you, just seems like it would cause a conflict
I haven't checked out World Eater but from the sounds of it, it definitely would.
I think that making a patch for World Eater would mess up the majority of his dialogue. His story is often conveyed through questions about the current location which would have to be removed as it wouldn't make sense.
I could make a patch where Gallus is ignored by all the draugr and what not but that might be slightly immersion breaking.
I'm playing shattered with the world eater add on, and I can confirm that there are lots of draugrs and a dragon priest in the larger cities, and they put huge dragon skeletons on top of buildings. there's one on top of dragonsreach and another on top of high hrothgar. haven't been to the other major cities yet. I have the followers add on also installed, and Jenassa just showed up from somewhere in whiterun, and I was able to hire her. You can hire Erik in Rorikstead. Once they join the DB, they get targeted by the draugr as well.
I made this addon before learning of World Eater so he really doesn't mesh well with the addon.
He's actually a part of a series of addons that add in a main quest/story to Shattered, all of my NPCs are part of this questline and I'll be releasing more addons soon that fully develop the questline :))
If that is easy doable, a patch could be that your npc only appear after the dragon priests of all cities they visid are defeated. Also can you with out spoiler tell some mods in your series which should work with world eater because the npc don't travel much in exterior spaces?
Thank you for 500 unique downloads! The amount of support and praise I've received on all my addons has been amazing!
I'm working on so many projects at the moment, some being Shattered related and some not but hopefully you will all like the stuff I will release over the coming weeks.

First time I've seen this error though.

None of them are directly incompatible, but they will all be incompatible story-wise

Thanks everyone :))

I love this enigmatic idea of your NPC. Very bizarre and unnerving, yet oddly comforting. Well done!
