just tell me what USSEPS i need latest and all that stuff patches whatever, i'm so confused please and thanks!
came here for a different issue but I can definitely say: Do not use the current version of USSEP (currently 4.3.3) at ALL. I assume your 4.3.0 version is post AE and therefore not compatible with VR. As far as you first two options, its either or. I am currently using your second option and am having ctd issues similar to: https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimmods/comments/13ofz5x/skyrim_vr_modding_crash_idk_whats_going_on_any/ I am interested to see if your first option is more stable than your second option (the one I am using).
i use vortex. just took a look at my mod deploy order (not plugin load order). the patch was before ussep 4.2.5b. swapped them and then tested for a few and so far so good.
Fyi both your first two options are the same just need to pick one. the second one is easier since you don't have to run the patcher yourself.
I apologize for the long messages concerning this matter it’s not an issue that can be briefly addressed as there’s so much conflicting information out there , so in conclusion would it be a safe and stable approach to just install USSEP 4.2.5b then install this patch and let the patch overwrite?
Thank you for getting back to me , just was meaning that I know it’s not malicious I meant safe only in the aspect of safe as in stable and from ctd’s not that it’s malicious software
Also, to address what you said before about a build without USSEP , at least on my end I have done several builds without USSEP for VR with over 100 mods and can personally attest there is no discernible difference whatsoever with hundreds of hours of gameplay without USSEP other than the mods that depend on USSEP weren’t able to be used
Thank you so much for the reply! And yes that’s exactly the case for me personally I could care less about USSEP and only have interest in using it for the mods that have it as a dependency and when looking at the esps for those mods in xedit it’s not even that much of a change in which USSEP adds to those mods so it’s sad the authors chose to make USSEP a dependency to begin with I’m definitely interested in the most stable approach there’s so much conflicting information out there regarding USSEP and VR I really wish I could find an easy one click solution as it’s not something I even want to bother with to begin with and quite frankly don’t support the ideals and mindset of the USSEP team in regards to their treatment of VR which is imo the best and only way to play Skyrim the immersion of Skyrim VR itself and the mods that bring it to life even further such as Planck and Higgs do far more for the game itself than anyone at USSEP ever could.
Sorry if this question is redundant but I still have USSEP v4.2.5b from when I downloaded it long ago, I am curious what are these patches for if v4.2.5b is already the last version that is already compatible with Skyrim VR in other words why are patches necessary if this version is already compatible? I don't even care or notice any difference with USSEP and I've played for 1000's of hours I don't even want USSEP I only want to use a couple of mods that unfortunately and unnecessarily depend on it.
This patch fill the gap between SkyrimVR (v1.4.15) and SkyrimSE (v1.5.97). USSEP 4.2.5b was made for SkyrimSE, not VR. It is commonly said that this is the "last VR compatible one" because after USSEP 4.2.5b there is only versions compatible with the Anniversary Edition of Skyrim which include fixes for contents that the SE and VR edition don't have.
In itself using USSEP and this patch don't do much, it's mostly usefull for adding mods that depends on USSEP (there is quite a few).
I also think it helps on overhaul stability, my mod Collection of 800+ mod is actually very stable, I'm pretty sure the patch made by Lysinine + USSEP help on that, I could be wrong tho, I need to build the same modpack without USSEP one day just to see.
I'm using the latest DynDOLOD3 and TexGen runs fine but when I go to run DynDOLOD, it shoots an error that Update.esm, Dawnguard.esm, and Hearthfires.esm all need to be cleaned. In my mod manager, it shows this patch as the origin for those master plugins. I don't think I had this issue with the previous DynDOLOD version. Is there a workaround you might suggest?
Thanks for this work. I've used it without issue until this point.
I am almost considering running without USSEP at this point just because of the sheer amount of crashes I get from indoor areas around the game with USSEP. I would probably have to run a restart, but holy s#*! is it incredibly annoying. I think it just messed with Lux or something because these two just have been having a silent boxing match in the background the entire time.
