Hey uh this mod needs updated. I'm playing with the console Bethesda.net version and I get a wierd face texture issue, having no other problems with other female npcs, so it's definitly something with this mod.
I have a question. Why are Idolof BattleBorn and Hadvar included in this mod? I ask because when using this mod with one that modifies NPCs, I end up with the dark face bug on these characters. I am able to fix it easily by moving this mod above the NPC mod, but I'm just wondering why they are there in the first place. Thanks.
Don't know if you're still monitoring this post, but the likely reason for the change is so that those two characters outfits don't get edited by his changes to the default imperial outfits. Otherwise Hadvar would be holding a shield in the opening cart scene instead of his "death list" and Idolof would be walking around Whiterun with a shield. Both of these happened with earlier versions.
ok so I'm a big history buff and by all means please download this mod, but I THINK Bethesda was going off of historical wartime gender rolls which is that most often the indigenous people that are being oppressed would be more open to women in their ranks while dispatched soldiers from a homeland abroad are historically more likely to have been male. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong, I am hardly a history professor lol
Sorry to answer you so late. Historically yes, I think you're definetely right. However, we are here in a medieval fantasy video game where it is hard to say what should be considered as "cannon". Dragons with 2 legs + 2 hybrid forearms/wings instead of 4 legs + 2 wings is just another example. The game just has its own lore and conventions. My opinion is that trying to match our "standards" here is probably meaningless...
Just a small critique; having female Imperial Soldiers is alright with me, but the accented Female Nords seems a bit off, like I still see them belonging to the Stormcloaks, I mean they're better off being guards since they have a good amount of dialogue to speak to you about the world,
But the most fitting Female voices I would see in the Imperial Legion are these;
Illia's voice [FemaleEvenToned]; would be (at least) the equivalent to the Gideon Emery voice [MaleSoldier],
Ysolda's voice [FemaleYoungEager]; should no doubt be equivalent to the voice like Sven [MaleYoungEager] especially how their voice types are named, and how they say "Oh, did you need something?".
There's also the Imperial Captain voice [FemaleCommander], but everyone already knows her equal [MaleCommander].
It's just a suggestion, but what would your thoughts be to it?
Well to let you know, at least, I've seen some Imperial soldiers patrolling outside their Stronghold walls with their generic "Need something?" dialogue.
You do realize there's generic Legion voice files for the Female Commander voice (Legate Rikke) too, right? That voice would be way more fitting for all races as opposed to the accented nord voice
Great idea all around! I was wondering if there was any sort of compatibility for Warzones?? I have had this mod active for about a day or two now and I have yet to see a legionette spawn, either on Imperial patrols or battlefields. I might have to check my load order and see if anything else is affecting the mod, so here's hoping.
No way, Orcs are not in the fight really and Argonians should'nt even be in Skyrim in the first place, they would just freeze and not move. Lizards live in the southern climes only. (always had a problem with that in Skyrim) And the elves are already represented with the Thalmor.
I don't see why Orcs should be excluded. We often hear in-game references to Orcs who have been in the legion, male and female; for example Moth and Ghorza as well as several in the various holds. If then, why not now? No Orc Stormcloaks - that I can understand; Ulfric wouldn't put up with that.
And the Saxhleel appear to be endothermic and so we find them in Skyrim, in Riften and the Windhelm docks, for instance. A far bigger issue for me is putting mammary glands on female Saxhleel. Granted some bear their young "live", but I've always assumed it's similar to shark "live" births; the eggs develop in the mother, but that doesn't mean they require nursing. If sharks nursed their young - I don't even want to think on that!
Thanks Madcat, you can see the elephant in the room, a rare talent.
OK, maybe a few Orc's. But your right about the breasts on the Saxamacallit?, huh, Argonians, totally sick and wrong. Anyway getting back on track here, this is a great mod and corrects 2 big oversights from Beth, Women and shields. I always thought that Beth did this to show that the Empire had plenty of male soldiers and that the Stormcloaks were hurting for recruits and needed to recruit women.
Yes, Orcs are known for siding with the Legion since the empire protected Orsinium. Elves can be used in the legion as well, there's already a legate that's an elf (I think it was in the Rift camp that you'll meet him), so we could find some more mer to join. I'd think the dunmer would be perfect choices since they're not affiliated with the Thalmor, and the Stormcloaks hate them. Side note, you should go watch Lockstin's video "Why do Argonians Have Breasts?". There's an interesting theory between them and the hist that allows this to happen. Certainly better than my made up theory that they were blessed by Dibella to better fit in with men and mer.

Do a search for the following dialogue ID in the Voices BSA: 0006B136
This line corresponds to "I'm still sore where I took that arrow. I hate archers", one of the banter lines in camps that Imperial soidlers have.
It will only turn up matching FUZ files for five voice types, none of them FemaleCommander.
