can you release a lighter grass version specifically for this mod? i know you made a performance friendly esp, but i really like how the dense grass looks in skyrim rather than solshteim
So I downloaded the meshes from the library mod listed in the requirements, but now I have purple grass objects all over the place, which suggests to me that some of the meshes in that library also need textures.
I'm guessing those textures are either the ones on the same modpage (uncompressed resources though, possibly not optimised for in-game usage?), or that they are found in another Cathedral flora mod.
It's hard for me to tell what they are supposed to be, as More Informative Console doesn't let me click on grass.
EDIT: OK, I checked the comments on the Library page, turns out it's got a mesh in loose files that overwrites one from a BSA in Veydosebrom. I've hidden that mesh in the Library, so hopefully that should solve it.
Hi Dr Jacopo! Fantastic work with this as always, perfectly fits the style of Solstheim.
Any chance of bringing back support for the archived performance plugin? Without it, this plugin by itself dropped my framerates some 35+, from 60 (capped) to 25 or less. Love the aesthetic but I just can't justify using it with that kind of performance hit. I'm on a 3060ti and only really experience this level of impact from this mod--even Falkreath and the Whiterun tundra perform better vs Solstheim, and if I understand correctly they're usually some of the worst-performing areas in any given modlist (certainly the case for me).
Thank you for your tireless work to improve this game, hoping you can find a way to let me have my cake and eat it too.
Good question. Solstheim has a lot of overhead. Itβs a small, desolate island with few objects, few plants, and essentially no LOD for the mainland. I donβt get any fps loss, but my fps is capped at 60. Iβm sure if you uncapped your fps there would be measurable performance cost. Not necessarily because the assets are expensive, but because way more landscape is covered with grass than in the vanilla game.
I took about 10-15fps hit in some places. Like he mentioned, it's not about the assets, it's about the coverage and density. I don't use grass LOD and I only have Cathedral Grass along with this, and EVT for my flora setup. Kinda brings back the old Verdant lag vibes.
My system is using a 12th gen i5, with RTX 3060Ti, on 1080p.
I've calculated an average fps loss of 6 on my laptop from 2019 (i7 @ 2.6Ghz, GTX 1660 Ti). I have released a performance esp that grows grass only where the vanilla game does, improving performance by about 50%.

Also, sholdn't this include IvyDrJ_Ash.dds and CloversDrJ_ash.dds? the second I found in your library , the first no
