If you have any suggestions for changes, please note them.
Please note, the best practice to update this mod is to remove the old separators before installing the new.

UPDATE: 03/09/2024 Update: Separators for ONLY LOOT's Groups in the latest masterlist. There may be future updates as our team reviews what changes we will make in DarkLadyLexy's Legacy of the Dragonborn mod guide.
Update: 03/01/2024 for v1.04 As I'm working through a new modlist I have already discovered — 00.03.05 — ║ Tools & Utilities ║ is a duplicate fo — 00.03.06 — ║ Tools & Utilities ║. I will upload the fix after I have finished my current build. You can simply rename it yourself if you wish. It should be named — 00.03.05 — ║ Tools & Utilities ║ ReShade Post Processing — DO NOT USE WITH ENB — .
Update: 05/11/2023 I finished the update sooner than expected. If you notice anything I need to change, please feel say so. Thank you. 🙏
Thanks for this. I was going to do it, but there's one thing about the LOOT order that pisses me off. The placement of Flat Maps. Now sure, there's more than one Flat Map type available, but if you're using the Flat World Map Framework, your maps have to be last as in literally the last plugins. If not, purple screen. It's easy to make my own and create a dual fork between LOD and FWMF (because I don't currently use LOD), but it is kind of a pain. Especially when if you want to actually use the LOOT groups, it automatically puts FWMF in Flat Maps.
I like this setup though, because I can put in sub levels where ever and then just use the Sync to Modlist plugin to have the plugins order like the Left Pane.
It seperates your mods into groups in MO2. Of course you have to actually put them under each seperator. It's completly unnecessary but damn, it helps keep things organized.
Awesome list of MO2 separators! My OCD is pleased.
Reading the description peaked my interest in Lexy's LODS mod build. Do you have a modlist.txt for Lexy's LODS build that shows how you organized the mods? I've only started the mod build, so the organization may become clear, but I would like to get the mods organized while I'm working through the build.
Thank you. I am very happy you are finding it useful. Lexy's guide is one of the best out there to get some good practice and experience in Skyrim modding. Due to some real life curve balls, I haven't had the opportunity to mod in a few weeks. However, we have a very helpful community in her discord server. Most are generous to share their knowledge, tips and tricks, etc... I hope you enjoy Lexy's latest guide update, and continue to be encouraged to keep modding. 😉
Why is the Alternate Start section so high up in the load order? I thought they needed to be close to the bottom of load order. I know that is what Alternate Perspectives creator recommends. I do like your separator categories.
The plugin itself (esp file) does tend to go low in final load order, but these are categories / separators to help make asset conflicts easier and more intuitive to work with.
Thank you. As comatosedragon said, these categories are useful for most of the asset conflict resolution. Especially if you have a huge load order, you will still need to load up xEdit to determine what will be the best plugin load order. Also, for large load orders, you will most likely need to create some patches. A few mods do need to be loaded after ASLAL, one mod in particular comes to mind. See the compatibility section of At Your Own Pace.
In Lexy's LOTD we create LOOT rules to add a Village Group after ASLAL. The LOOT Group rules she has set for her guide can be found on her Prerequisites page in the LOOT section, and on her Finishing Line page we take it a step further showing what mods should be added to which groups, as well as mods that require Load After rules. We do provide consistency and conflict resolution patches for her guide users.
The suggestion from mod authors to load their plugins "close to the bottom" does not take into account all other mods you may install that also suggest you load their mod close to the bottom. You will need to load up those plugins in xEdit and take a look for yourself which should take priority.
Thank you. My youngest son created the profile image just for me based off my personality and favorite colors. I'm not certain where he got the silhouette inspiration from. He's a very talented artist, in his 30's. He has his own website if you would like to check out his work. DownloadDelights
Plugins do not only set form priorities. Archives load their resources based on respective plugin position in the load order.
This is why LOOT sorting does not always "make sense" to everyone. They stare at record conflicts from xEdit, but completely ignore that resources have conflicts as well. LOOT is quite well maintained and considers this, when the information is available.
Loot is pretty well maintained and updated frequently. the main issue is that users are not importing user metadata anymore on GitHub which makes it seem like it's not being maintained.
loot tells you a mod has itms. User-uploaded metadata. this mod is not compatible with this mod. user updated metadata. xedit is for the people that want to dive deep into the files and make precise edits and changes while loot is for the more casual user.
I use loot for sorting since it's easier overall on the eyes than xedit. now for patch making, I'm gonna use xedit. but overall to each their own.
There are no mods in the Separator folders. The folders are simply separators for your list of mods. These can be collapsed and expanded as needed. MO2's Wiki page will be a good source to understand more about how to use MO2 if you are confulsed. https://github.com/ModOrganizer2/modorganizer/wikiYou do not use LOOT to sort the separators.
To make this work, I need to move my installed mod files out of their current folder, and individually place them in the appropriate-subject subfolder inside "mods" folder?
I don't understand what you are asking. These are simply separators to extract to your MO2 mods folder, regardless of your MO2 path. Separators allow one the ability to sort mods into groups or sections. These can be collapsed and expanded as needed. MO2's Wiki page will be a good source to understand more about how to use MO2 if you are confulsed. https://github.com/ModOrganizer2/modorganizer/wiki
lol your ocd would probably cause you to have a heart attack if you saw the mess that i call a load order :). I have gotten pretty good at conflict resolution in my 8 or 9 months modding this game. I play in vr though so no esl's for me which makes it so much harder to keep a stable load order. Currently over 1000 mods merged down to 253. Alot are just mesh\texture mods but it is still a friggin headache. I gave up on loot a long time ago but maybe ill give it another go. BTW the way you ordered your seperators is really nice
Thank you, I was inspired by other modlist creators for the design and to help keep the separators in order without the need for a new profile. Ofc, I've been at this modding game for a very long time, and also created modlists for my husband to play on his Xbox One, so I do understand the importance of install order as much as load order. It can be a nightmare to figure it all out. Hopefully these separators do help better understand a more logical install order. 😉

Also thank you for the mod :)
That's just jaw dropping.

LOOT hasn't been properly maintained, and even then, it's better to just sort your plugins manually. Besides, you could get better results from it.

Attached here are some screenshots showing my install directory, LOOT application, and lack of mo2 separators.
I installed mo2 using the GamerPoets guide.
What do I need to do to make your file work?
