Anyone else having an issue with this mod duplicating soul gems? (i.e. I have 1 petty soul gem in inventory. I kill a wolf. I now have 1 empty petty soul gem AND 1 'Soul of Wolf' gem)
I love this mod. Have had it for SSE since 2019. Not sure why this bug popped up. Unless its a AE thing?
I noticed it as well. Ok so I just looked at the script and for some reason instead of decrementing the number of petty souls it decrements lesser souls instead - a simple copy and paste error? Was this always a thing and we just didn't notice? It only affects petty soul gems.
Another bug I noticed is if you repeatedly cast soul trap at a target i.e. before the previous has dispersed it'll add a soul gem to your inventory each time because it doesn't take into account unsuccessful traps.
Also It doesn't notify you if the target dies and you have no suitable gems it just fails to capture and does nothing
im having alot of issues of gems getting duplicated and Azura's star behaving super strange like not using up souls almost like it just keeps absorbing and absorbing, also iirc after i got Azura's star any time i captured a soul the notifications said "Strange Fill", ive been using the soul trap spell so not sure if it causes issues, but, is this mod safe to uninstall mid play thru if i get rid of all my current named gems or will it break my save?!
works great - I Love it ! it traps the souls of opponents into my black soul gems
but there is 1 Big Issue here that i would like to get resolved..

been toying around with this more. using a melee weapon with soul trap on it, have been getting this message , it repeatedly spams on me during combat, "start" "failed to capture, retry if you belive (thats spelled wrong) you should"
its Hideous. i would like it removed.
i looked around inside the mod in SSEEDIT to fix this, i couldn't find anything that leads me directly to this problem. i uninstalled this mod. i got zero error messages as stated above. i reinstalled it. i got the error messages. all evidence points to this mod causing the error.
if anyone, the mod author, or another user of this mod wants to make a comment, and attempt to clarify and help to correct the issue that would be great.
Oh wow, this is a cool mod if it works. Always wanted a way to trap specific NPC souls and put them as decorations in my house. Too bad I cant communicate with them as well...
how would I go about modifying this mod to only trigger on black souls so that otherwise my game will use GIST to shrink lesser souls into petty souls?
Some of the generic souls consisting of only one word (specifically "wolf", "skreever", "bandit") are named "Soul of wolf" instead of "Soul of Wolf". It somehow uses a lower case for the first letter in the name of a mob instead of an upper case. Is there any way I can fix it? It just really bugs me to see those names of those lesser mobs among others=) The problem is in scripting, probably.
I'm reasonably sure that "Soul of wolf" is more correct than "Soul of Wolf", though perhaps it should be "Soul of a wolf"?
The tricky bit is that you then need to pick between a/an, and as far as I can tell, that depends on how you pronounce the next word, which varies by region.

The Soul Thief; An insane enchanter and necromancer who focuses on bound weapons and sneak archery. His goal? Harvest the soul of every named NPC that he can. The grand prize being Ulfric Stormcloak himself. He intends to not only trap his soul, but to bind it into a weapon, cast Dead Thrall on him, and kit him with a full set of Daedric Armor.
