Will you make this voice mod compatible with (or a version for) mannygt's new 10th anniversary mod of The Gray Cowl of Nocturnal, which he published today?
It might be compatible or it might not be, I'm not sure. I have no idea what he changed with the new version. Really depends if he touched the voicelines or not.
Might be a while before I play the new version since my skyrim build is kind of tethered to the old version of Grey Cowl. If people want this mod to extend to the new voices as well I should be able to manage that though. Really just depends if there's demand for it.
I believe Aelarr works closely with Vicn(Mod Author) on translations and has most of the mod redone with VA's so i doubt it. However last I knew he had stepped back on VA updates and is waiting for a fully finished version to bring them in. Might be worth asking, worst the could say is no. You may even be able to use the VA's Aelar is working with to cover updates until the mod finishes if they're open to working with you. Not sure what the team's stance on AI voicing.
I think Vicn lowkey doesn't fully support the Aelarr voice mod... otherwise the voice mod would've been made into an official part of Vigilant. Vicn keeps his mod separate. If Vicn knew that Vigilant could be enhanced with this level of quality... how could he say no, other than that it might break the voice alliance's heart.
Vicn supports Aelarr's voiced addons for his mods, however Vicn's mods are developed in Japanese and it probably doesn't make sense to him to make the English addons "official" parts of his mods.
Apologies, I was unaware the mod is natively Japanese, thus the English add on is separate. Still, the voice add on is of poor quality, and turns players off to this day. There are many gamers out there still on the fence about Vigilant, myself included. Certainly, a voicing done by SecretStamos could be what brings these players in; the ones who want voices that aren't cringe, and instead voices that can carry the true grandeur of this mod. Even if it isn't perfect, it could be as close as we can get.
Vigilant, Glenmoril and Unslaad already have Ai voice mods but are low quality (xVASynth fault). Honesty I don't know why the author (Vicn) will be mad if someone make better quality voices using ElevenLabs....
no, voice acting in Vigilant is great, and full of heart, changing that would be a terrible idea. Where is it "cringe"? Why do you speak in the name of other people?
SOME are full of heart and sound amazing, others sound like bad 'straight to tv' movie actor deliveries that take you out of the experience. It is not consistent at all.
this is a really underappreciated mod, makes GCoN playable by modern quest mod standards. If you're looking for more suggestions, Moonpath to Elsweyr would benefit SO much from this (for certain characters) due to super low quality mics.
On a side note, there's also an insufferable orc in Vilja mod. She has a couple of lines that will take you to and back from hell itself. Could you look into that once you have the free time...sometime..eventually..maybe in the distant future?
Well, there was no response on that front buuuuut can I instead request AI voice for Damsels mod. Only if you are willing and have free time ofcourse. Edit1: Actually Scratch that. That mods description is confusing about whether VA is present even for generic responses or not...
The Damsels mod uses original VA's and the unspoken lines are silent. You'd literallly just need a patch that replaces the voice files with Elvenlabs. So you could ask for permissions out of respect but i dont think they're needed by Nexis's standards as you'd just replace voice files made without any external assets being used.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but your mod can be made compatible with The Gray Cowl Of Nocturnal - Revoice and Expansion Project simply by deleting the folder manny_gf_voice_arenar, right? They're both great additions to the base mod and it would be great to use them together!
Yeah they should be compatible, the only conflict is Arenar's voice. If you're using a mod manager, whichever files you load after will take effect for him. If you're just dropping them into your data folder, whichever one you install last will be used for him.
This mod is incredibly simple, literally just sound files, which makes it easy.
