   Can I ask why the mod needs the script? Will NPCs ignore (i.e. not equip) distributed backpacks unless forced to by it?

      the script is to assign the different types of backpacks, and the only NPCs that will use these backpacks are the ones assigned in the Campfire Backpack to NPC_DISTR.ini file that comes with this mod, if you want to change the NPC, edit the Campfire Backpack to NPC_DISTR.ini

      Thanks, Angie. :) I get that. I just wondered why you didn't use the (it seems to me) simpler method of just SPID distributing "item ="?

   Is there someway of setting this up with CC Backpacks to NPCs so that an NPC could only get one or the other, or none entirely?

   Any idea how this would interact with Wet and Cold Gear, which also distributes backpacks (including Campfire backpacks) to NPCs?

      I haven't tested it yet, but my assumption is that this mod would take priority since Wet and Cold looks for an unassigned slot to fill. Could just be talking out of the wrong end though.

      if you want backpacks on enemies you have to edit the .ini that comes with this mod :), that's the magic of SPID
