(Formerly plain old FOLLOWER ENRICHMENT PROJECT)

Thank you for choosing Follower and Hero Enrichment Project, the SPID and optionally SkyPatcher-powered project for all your follower and hero enrichment needs! Enjoy admiring your followers' stylish new outfits, borrowing their enchanted weapons, and watching them beat enemies against which they wouldn't ordinarily have stood a chance! Enjoy meeting colourful characters around Skyrim and Solstheim, admiring their new clothes, realising you can't so easily beat them up and more, all in this lightweight, easy-to-use mod!

REQUIREMENTS:

Skyrim Special Edition or Anniversary Edition
Spell Perk Item Distributor
For optional features, SkyPatcher

FEATURES:

* Followers have been given perks for what they specialise in, and occasionally what they don't. This includes temporary quest followers such as Anska, Delphine and Esbern.
* Most magic-using followers have a wider range of spells to enjoy. They won't learn Expert-level spells and above until their skills are high enough.
* Some followers have new items and outfits. If you have SkyPatcher, some followers' classes have been changed to better suit their equipment.
* A limited number of non-follower characters such as faction members, quest givers, quest targets, mini-bosses and Angi have also been enriched, with perks to suit their skills and the occasional artifact. There might be an easter egg or two as well.
* With SkyPatcher, most followers have had their level cap increased to 50.

DETAILS:

* Argis the Bulwark gets an enchanted dwarven sword, perks for one-handed weaponry, heavy armour and blocking. His custom perk gives him additional health and stamina.
* Calder gets a new suit of armour including a horned helmet, and perks for two-handed weaponry, heavy armour and blocking. His class is changed to Combat Warrior 2H. His perk makes his attacks do a small amount of magicka damage.
* Gregor gets a hat, light armour, and perks for two-handed weaponry, light armour and blocking. His class is changed to Barbarian. His perk gives him faster health and stamina regeneration.
* Iona gets a banded iron shield, an orcish bow, light armour, and perks for one-handed weapons, block, light armour and stealth. Her class is changed to Thief. Her custom perks give her attacks a little poison damage.
* Jordis the Sword-Maiden gets a silver greatsword, a nice circlet, sword-focused perks for one-handed and two-handed weaponry, heavy armour and block. Her custom perk gives her extra stamina and slightly increased attack speed.
* Lydia gets a shield, and perks for heavy armour, archery and one-handed weaponry. Her special perk gives her increased carrying capacity and melee damage. The SkyPatcher module gives her a surname as well.
* Rayya gets an enchanted bow, and perks for one-handed weaponry, heavy armour and archery. Her perk increases her movement speed a bit.
* Valdimar gets a frost atronach staff, Morthal guard's armour, and a handful of spells. He already had enough perks by default. His class is switched to one with light armour. His perk gives him poison resistance and additional magicka.

* Belrand gets a staff of lightning bolts, studded armour, and a handful of basic spells.
* Erik the Slayer's class is set to Combat Warrior 1H. He gets perks for one- and two-handed weapons, light and heavy armour, and blocking. His custom perk gives him a damage bonus at low health.
* Jenassa gets some steel arrows, perks for one-handed weapons, archery, light armour and stealth. Her custom perk gives her a significant damage bonus against enemies who are at full health. Use her for an "alpha strike".
* Marcurio gets a couple of perks for Destruction and stealth, and some spells to use at high levels.
* Stenvar gets a new outfit, an Imperial bow, some iron arrows, and perks for two-handed weaponry, archery and heavy armour. His custom perk gives him a chance of critical hits with any weapon.
* Teldryn Sero gets a handful of extra spells; he's powerful enough already aside from those.
* Vorstag gets a dwarven bow, an enchanted iron battleaxe, perks for two-handed weaponry, light armour, archery and blocking. His class is set to Barbarian. His custom perk gives him shock resistance and extra health.

* Adelaisa Vendicci gets an Imperial bow, a heavy Imperial shield, some enchanted bracers, a little trinket, and perks for heavy armour, archery, blocking and one-handed weaponry. Her class is set to Combat Warrior 1H. Her special perk gives her frost resistance and additional stamina. (Adelaisa is so tough, she's a sort of honourary Nord.)
* Ahtar gets perks for two-handed weaponry, light armour and blocking. He shares Jenassa's perk for a sizeable damage bonus against enemies at full health - because, ideally, an executioner should finish the job in one swing.
* Annekke Crag-Jumper gets a hide helmet and enchanted elven mace left over from her adventuring days, and perks for one-handed weaponry, archery and light armour. Her custom perk gives her extra stamina regeneration when her stamina is low.
* Aranea Ienith gets a snazzy new outfit, perks for Conjuration and stealth, and some new spell, most notably the ability to raise some undead.
* Benor gets one of those ancient Nord battleaxes of frost you see all over the place, a few medicinal items, and perks for two-handed weaponry, heavy armour (including Fist of Steel, so watch out), and block. His custom perk increases his health regeneration when his health is low.
* Cosnach gets a Forsworn bow, some iron arrows, a hat, perks for one-handed weaponry, light armour, blocking and stealth. His custom perk increases his carry weight and armour rating.
* Derkeethus gets basic perks for one-handed weaponry, blocking, archery and light armour. His custom perk gives his attacks a small amount of poison damage.
* Eola gets a pair of gloves, some extra perks for one-handed weapons and stealth, and an advanced necromancy spell. Her custom perk gives her attacks some stamina damage.
* Erandur gets perks for one-handed weaponry, Destruction and Restoration, some more Restoration spells, and Fireball. His perk speeds up his health and magicka regeneration.
* Faendal gets a slightly smexier outfit, some elven arrows, and basic perks in one-handed weaponry and archery.
* Golldir already has plenty of perks, but he gets Shield Wall. His custom perk is shared with Gregor, raising his health and stamina regeneration.
* Illia's regular perks and spells come from a levelled list, and I didn't know how to add to that. She does get a custom perk, though, giving her significantly faster magicka regeneration when her magicka is low.
* Kharjo gets perks in one-handed weaponry, heavy armour and blocking. His custom perk gives him magic resistance and improved stealth.
* Mjoll the Lioness gets a Nordic bow, some steel arrows, a couple of exotic pieces of armour, and perks for one-handed weaponry, heavy armour and blocking. Her level cap is increased to 61. Her custom perk gives her extra health and a small amount of magic resistance.
* Roggi Knot-Beard gets a new outfit, an enchanted pickaxe, and a few basic weapon perks. His custom perk makes all his attributes regenerate faster while he's carrying five or more food items.
* Sven gets a few magic scrolls, perks for archery and light armour, and a few Illusion spells which NPCs probably can't use. He's trying, bless his cotton socks...
* Uthgerd the Unbroken gets perks for two-handed weaponry, heavy armour (including Fists of Steel, of course) and blocking. Her class is set to Combat Warrior 2H. Her custom perk gives her some magic and poison resistance.

* Brelyna Maryon gets warm boots and gloves, a staff of Lightning Bolts, and some spells to use at high levels. Her custom perk, shared with Erandur, makes her magicka and health regenerate faster. Her level cap is increased to 61.
* J'Zargo gets some Destruction perks and various spells. His custom perk gives him extra magicka and slightly more movement speed. His level cap is decreased to 61; sorry, but it's for balance.
* Onmund gets an axe with a magicka damage enchantment, which his family may or may not have given him out of spite. He also gets a few perks and some more spells, focusing on Restoration, eventually building up to Greater Ward and Circle of Protection. His custom perk makes his Destruction and Restoration magic more effective. His level cap is increased to 61.
* Aela the Huntress gets some Stormcloak officer armour (with the label torn off so the Battle-Borns don't give her any problems), a Nordic bow, and perks for archery, light armour, one-handed weaponry, blocking and stealth. Her level cap is increased to 61. Her custom perk lets her attacks ignore a quarter of the enemy's armour rating.
* Athis gets an elven sword, normal boots and gloves, and perks for one-handed weaponry, blocking and light armour. His custom perk, again, speeds up his health and stamina regeneration. (I may have been running out of ideas...)
* Farkas gets perks for two-handed weaponry, heavy armour and blocking. His level cap is increased to 61. His perk, shared with Vilkas, increases the effect of his melee attacks and blocking.
* Njada Stonearm gets for blocking, light armour and one-handed weaponry. Her custom perk is the "more health and stamina regeneration" one, again.
* Ria gets a new suit of steel armour, a bow, and some perks in one-handed weaponry, heavy armour, archery and blocking. Her custom perk, shared with Erik the Slayer, gives her increased damage at low health. Her level cap is increased to 61.

* Vilkas gets a Skyforge Steel greatsword, and perks for two-handed weaponry, heavy armour and blocking. He shares Farkas's perk, giving him increased melee damage and block potency. His maximum level is increased to 61.
* Cicero gets a deadly enchanted fork, some snacks, and perks for one-handed weaponry, light armour and stealth. He is a master of stealth when he can be persuaded to stop giggling. His level cap is increased to 61, and his custom perk adds bleeding damage to his attacks.
* The Dark Brotherhood initiates get perks for one-handed weaponry, stealth, archery and light armour. They rank among Skyrim's light armour experts. Their level caps are decreased to 50.

* Agmaer gets some soup, and basic perks for one-handed weaponry, archery, and heavy armour. His class is set to Guard Imperial. His custom perk gives him some magic resistance and faster health regeneration.
* Beleval gets a shield, light armour, and perks for one-handed weaponry, light armour, blocking and archery. Her custom perk is borrowed from Argis, giving her extra health and stamina.
* Celann gets heavy armour, and perks for heavy armour. His custom perk (deep, heartfelt sigh) speeds up his health and stamina regeneration, like everyone else's. But on the bright side, his level cap is increased to 61!
* Durak gets a couple of keepsakes from back home, and perks for archery, light armour, blocking and one-handed weaponry. His level cap is raised to 81. His custom perk gives his attacks some magicka damage.

* Serana gets an enchanted Nordic axe, a bone hawk amulet and some vampire gloves, perks for one-handed weaponry, light armour, Conjuration, Destruction and stealth, and a few more spells, including the ability to summon Soul Cairn undead. She gets access to more powerful spells at high levels. Her level cap is raised to 81. Her custom perk gives her extra armour rating, magic resistance, and sneaking ability. (I owe Laura Bailey a few favours.)

* Lob gets some new enchanted armour, an orcish bow, some arrows, and perks for one-handed weaponry, archery and light armour. His custom perk (from the pile) means his health regenerates faster when low.
* Ogol is a mage now. He gets an enchanted orcish dagger, basic perks for one-handed weaponry, Conjuration and Destruction, some shock magic and a couple of summons. His class is changed to CombatNightblade.

COMPATIBILITY:

No vanilla NPC records are edited, so Follower Enrichment Project is compatible with character appearance overhauls and similar. If Follower Enrichment Project is used alongside Tough Cookie Serana, Serana's tough cookie equipment will take precedence, although there is definitely going to be some overlap.

CHANGELOG:

1.0.0: Initial release.
1.1.0: Removed a few perks from characters who felt unreasonably strong in testing.
Gave some perks to animal followers such as Meeko and the Dawnguard trolls.
2.0.0: Removed some more perks from followers who seemed overtuned. As of this update, NPCs are allocated a maximum of four perks in any given skill, unless they've been VERY good and/or it's thematically necessary for them to have more.
Rebalanced the enchantment on Serana's weapon.
Added support for some non-follower Dawnguard warriors and Volkihar Clan vampires. Both castle sieges in the Dawnguard storyline should now be a real challenge.
Added support for temporary followers in several quests.
Added support for various leading figures in the civil war.
Added support for the rest of the Companions.
Added support for Thieves Guild members and a few people you encounter during their storyline.
Added support for College of Winterhold faculty and a few people you encounter during the College storyline.
Added support for Dark Brotherhood members and some characters unlucky enough to be involved in their storyline.
Added support for prominent characters during the main story, such as Malborn and the Thalmor assassin who is sent to "get" him after the party.
Added support for other prominent people, such as jarls, secret vampires, drunkards, wandering heroes and Olfinas.
2.1.0: Split the mod into "Followic" and "Heroic" branches.
Condensed the DISTR file by using keywords for characters who get similar perks, such as the Civil War commanders.
Minor balance changes to various artifacts.
2.1.1: Fixed a few issues with the DISTR file.
2.1.2: Fixed some more issues with the DISTR file.
3.0.0: Reworked the mod to use SkyPatcher for deeper changes, mainly to increase level caps and swap some characters' classes.
Decreased the number of vanilla perks distributed.
Most followers have been given a custom perk or special ability, such as poison damage, resistance to something, better stat regeneration when they're carrying enough food, and so on.
Removed support for quite a lot of NPCs who weren't really doing much.
Added support for some BUVARP characters.
3.0.1: Gormhaith, Hakon and Felldir can now level with the player up to level 81.
J'zargo, Brelyna and Onmund's level caps have been increased to 61.
Ria's level cap has been decreased to 61.
Lydia is no longer renamed by default.

KNOWN ISSUES:

Due to the way SPID distribution works, characters such as Benor who have been given a fancy new weapon will still have the old one. Perhaps they like to have a spare in case they run into a draugr who's a bit trigger-happy with the Disarm shout.

Some followers get Ice Storm, which can and will start fights if you have more than one follower.
