Hi. As we know, this mod has a ton of conflicting mods.
If you want to help this mod with compatibility and you know how to make patches with other mods, DM me. As of the past months, I have very little time to spare for my mods or work on them.
There is an update that I'm thinking of doing for this mod though, it should improve the compatibility by a lot. But I can't give any dates on when I'm gonna be doing this update or if it even comes out.
I've analyzed this mod's cell edits and here's my conflict list, for those interested. If I decide to use this mod I'll probably be cranking out patches for everything here:
Definite Conflicts: (confirmed landscape or navmesh conflicts; MM and LAWF can be overwritten) Majestic Mountains LAWF Ryn's Saarthal - looks like it's good just loading after for the most part Outlaws Refuges Helgen Reborn Treasure Hunter Ryn's Standing Stones Windhelm Lighthouse Midden Expanded JK's Skyrim Interesting NPCs Legacy of the Dragonborn EasierRiders Dungeon Pack Laintar Dale Northern Roads JK's Windhelm Outskirts Ryn's Farms COTN Winterhold The Great City of Winterhold v4 TGCOTN Winterhold
Potential Conflicts: (need to investigate each cell for placements etc) ICAIO JK Septimus Mundus Stones Oblivion Artifacts The Brotherhood Of Old Alternate Start Radiance - Locations Settlements Expanded Roadsigns Overhaul Snazzy MLU Skyrim Sewers Lux Via Fishing CC ESO Imports Lux Orbis No Snow Under The Roof Obscure's College of Winterhold JK's College of Winterhold Capital Windhelm Immersive College NPCs College of Winterhold Quest Expansion
Minor Conflicts: (one or two records max) Atlas Map Markers BG Collectibles Citizens of Tamriel Navigator Obsidian Mountain Fogs
No Conflicts: Alchemical Treatises CFTO Cheesemod Cloaks Farmhouse Chimneys Finding Velekh Sain Ice Blade of the Monarch Inigo Solitude Temple Frescoes Teldryn Serious Waymark Wintersun
There's a bit of uncertainty til I open up CK around Windhelm as some ice floes are added to the river, which a lot of mods in that area border on very closely. I'll edit this post to remove the false hits on possibles as I check them.
Add SkyShards to the list, some Skyshards are sunken into the Glaciers. Also just to confirm, College of Winterhold - Quest Expansion has a minor conflict in the Alteration quest, you can avoid it by selecting the option "I'll meet you there" but if you follow the NPC he runs into everything endlessly due to glaciers blocking his normal pathing.
Hello, this mod appeared to be a promising one, but once I added it to my modlist I got several CTDs with no trace in crashlogger that pointed in this mod direction. Mainly CTDs: on new game, on saving and random crashes walking any Tamriel exterior cell...
They just stop after uninstalling frozenlands, such a pity.
Hey, currently the project is abandoned and not being worked on. As of now, I just don't have the time to do much of any modding. Since I have many mods, it's hard to attend to all of them by myself.
If you're struggling with performance then this will make it quite a bit worse as there will be a lot more for your system to render than without the mod.
Well that was an "old" comment (strange now it dates 2 days ago..), now I'm using dyndolod and enb (how I could live without? :) Btw for other readers (I bet you know already) dyndolod have even improved performance (following performance settings) I think I will try out next time I will generate again and/or I want to change something of that area, for the moment I'm ecstatic and satisfied after been able to have your "unreal glaciers" working well ❤️
Keeping an eye out for this one. I made a "terrain patch" for my entire load order that fixed floating trees, navmeshing issues, terrain looking ugly, terrain seams etc. and this would be a major timesaver once compatibility patches start rolling in. I thought this of the previous incarnation of this mod (Icy Regions Redone) and I think so here too.
It's really cool seeing this and Icy Coasts Remastered existing as these are the kind of visual overhauls I really appreciate tbh as the game can look very ugly due to the way terrain blending and such works and making the more barren areas of the game i.e the snowy regions look more lively like this is pretty awesome. Godspeed fam!
Yeaaa, it's a bit difficult to work on this. I'm in a way still thinking of the best way to go about it while doing some other project.
Since this mod is massive, there isn't exactly an all in one solution. But making a patch for every conflicting mod doesn't sound like the most fun either.
Redoing a lot of parts manually also is a bit hellish. So I'll have to come to some sort of conclusion.
I can imagine, haha. It wasn't the easiest for me and also extremely time consuming (it probably took me a year or something in total, maybe a bit more since my load order also changed a lot with mods like The Brotherhood of Old being removed) but it worked out only because I knew exactly what to patch as I came across issues and the fact that it was made specifically for my load order. In your case, you have to account for a lot of different load orders and how other people play the game so that makes it 100 times worse :x
Take your time figuring things out, I say. I'd personally focus on the mod itself for now and think of patches later. Hell, I think I'll actually download Frozenlands right away haha. I can deal with not everything being compatible right away as I have my ways :P

Can't live w/o IMR & ICR.
