About this mod

No minigames, just a loss of time and money (mostly)

This is as simple and straightforward as it comes: inns with big round tables or common square tables now have a possible gambling activity for you!

Requires Base Object Swapper.

To indulge in the vice, you have to have in your possesion a deck of playing cards and two dice (thank you, Stroti and Tamira), as well as at least 5 Septims.

There is a 5% chance to win, with a potential reward starting at 5 Septims and rising up to 1,000 Septims!

And a corresponding 95% chance to lose from 5 to 1,000 Septims.

Gambling will take you a random amount of time, from 1 to 6 hours. So it is a good way to waste time, but don't do it if you're soon needed to be elsewhere.

(Not before the wedding! Just waste your spouse's hard earned money afterwards.)

Both losing and winning have buffs and debuffs.

Compatibility is mostly great, except for a couple of leveled lists edits for miscellaneous traders and bandits to carry the two added items from time to time.
BOS handles the tables distribution, as well as adding a very small chance to replace some common small items with the cards/dice. So any new inns should be supported as long as they use vanilla tables and have the keyword assigned. Same goes for any inn remodels.

Better MessageBox Controls or another UI mod with similar functionality is probably warranted. In this mod you'll only see two (2) message boxes though: one if you don't have the supplies and/or money, and another one to choose whether or not to play. If you choose no, you simply exit. If you choose yes, the screen fades to black, your character wastes all of their money off-screen, gets upset about it, and then you get to continue doing whatever it was you were doing. Using survival mods will probably make you a bit hungry.

Check out Tavern Games by Sagittarius22 or Really Simple Gambling by stradivuckos, if you're looking for mini-games. Both are compatible with this one, of course, as they use dialogues and utility cells.

My other simple BOS based mods: No Cooking in TavernsTavernkeep Cooks.
