I have posted a functionally complete version of the Complex Parallax Test over on my Patreon page. This one includes all of the reach tree meshes and will work with Happy Little Trees out of the box. I've also included some optional mesh files to work with Majestic Mountains Complex Materials if you're using that mod too.

These are Free to the Public (aka not pay-walled). I still need to make some 2k versions (everything is in 4k at the moment) and fix a visual issue on one mesh before I post these to NexusMods.

Once I finish polishing up these, I'm going to tackle making some snowy variants to replace the reach trees in cold areas and also add Seasons of Skyrim support.

    Hi

Are you still planning to add Seasons of Skyrim support? In particular I use Turn of the Seasons with it's Happy Little Trees patch for the seasonal changes to reach trees but I would really love to be able to overwrite Happy Little Trees with your mod to lose the floating hanging moss.

I am. I have been working on some snowy meshes and textures for these. I'm also trying to find all of the trees in areas that are normally snowy so I can replace the green trees with snow covered ones in those areas.

If anyone has issues using this with Happy Little Trees (even with FOMOD), what I did to solve one of the trees not being replaced (reach cliff I think), I copied the nif files from this mod and pasted them in the "aHappyLittleTreeMod" folder. That seemed to have solved the issue

I thought I set the FOMOD to do that automatically if you check the Happy Little Trees option, but I'll double check to see if something is not setup correctly.

How might I get this to be compatible with Fabled Forests?

It looks like Fabled Forests uses the same file path for reach trees as Happy Little Trees, so if you use the Happy Little Trees option in the FOMOD for this mod it should work. You just need to make sure my mod loads after Fabled Trees.

    These trees look really good

I just wondered how they would work with my combination of Happy Little Trees, Seasons of Skyrim, Shrubs of Snow and Turn of the Seasons? I know that Turn of the Seasons has a patch for Happy Little Trees which I think makes HLT use the TotS meshes all year round so I guess this would need a patch for TotS as well?

Looking at Turn of the Season (TotS), it appears that you would most likely see the Happy Little Trees (HLT) variants of the reach trees in every season except winter. However, if you're up to modifying a few ini files in Notepad, it's fairly easy to fix.

Open the Turn of the Seasons mod folder and find the Seasons folder. Inside of the Seasons folder there will be four ini files for each of the seasons. Remove/delete the following lines from the [Trees] section in three of the ini files, then save your changes and you'll be good to go.

      Turn of the Seasons_AUT.ini
      ;TreeReachTree01|TreeReachTree01Autumn
      0xB8A73~Skyrim.esm|0x811~Turn of the Seasons.esp

      ;TreeReachTree02|TreeReachTree02Autumn
      0xB8A74~Skyrim.esm|0x812~Turn of the Seasons.esp

      Turn of the Seasons_SPR.ini
      ;TreeReachTree01|TreeReachTree01Spring
      0xB8A73~Skyrim.esm|0x817~Turn of the Seasons.esp

      ;TreeReachTree02|TreeReachTree02Spring
      0xB8A74~Skyrim.esm|0x818~Turn of the Seasons.esp

      Turn of the Seasons_SUM.ini
      ;TreeReachTree01|TreeReachTree01Spring
      0xB8A73~Skyrim.esm|0x817~Turn of the Seasons.esp

      ;TreeReachTree02|TreeReachTree02Spring
      0xB8A74~Skyrim.esm|0x818~Turn of the Seasons.esp

I am working on a winter version of these too. I just haven't gotten the frosty texture on the needles quite the way I want it yet. When I get that done, I'll make these compatible with Seasons of Skyrim, and I also plan to find the trees in cold areas and swap them for the snowy version so they don't stand out so much.

Ah thank you! Yes I was thinking of taking the trees out of the inis so your confirming that as an option is really encouraging.  I also love your plans for snowy and seasons compatibility with your mod! I am definitely tracking in anticipation :)

Thank you so much for the advice :)

Hello, one of your tree meshes (reachtreestump01.nif) uses texture ICFTreeReachAddOn01.dds with wrong normal map icftreepineforestaddon01_n.dds instead of ICFTreeReachAddOn01_n.dds
Just got warning from dyndolod about that

      Edit:
Fixed in version 1.02. I also made a modification to the bark texture so there aren't so many dark gashes in the tree trunk.

      Original Post:
I probably copy pasted the file name incorrectly for the normal texture when I was working on the mesh. I'll work on fixing that.

Hello! I recently saw how amazing your reach tree replacer looked like and was wondering if you'd give permission for a Xbox port of this mod? I assure you that you would be credited in the description and will have a link back to this nexus mod. I would love to have this mod on Xbox! Hope to heard back from you!!!

Great mod, but the only problem is the reach trees that also show up in parts of Winterhold and other snowy areas are affected. Maybe this could be fixed with Base Object Swapper, but I'm not sure.

The mod above uses Base Object Swapper to replace the out of place reach trees with snow covered pines. It works with tree replacers too if they replace the vanilla pines.

On another note, making a winter version of these is on my to do list.

I'll consider it. It really depends on if I can find suitable textures to work with. I like to obtain my own textures, but I don't know if I have any leafy trees around my area that would fit in the game.
