    Just a heads up that V6 of legacy will fix these stray cube maps by stripping them from the mod, so this will no longer be needed for V6+

    hi , ENB Dynamic Cubemaps at Skyrim Special Edition Nexus - Mods and Community (nexusmods.com) wins if loaded at the end , making yours redundant by MO2 ,should be load after or we MUST choose 1 ? thanks

    I have the file "quickskydark_e.dds" in the mod "The sinister seven", but the file it's completely different from yours,it's safe to overwrite?

      I don't think that mod should've included that file, since it was a change that was out of scope for the mod
      Although the file is in the correct format, it appears whoever made it mixed up the image orientations.
      But it won't show up as black in game at least.

      After looking at it, it is also incorrect. The file format is correct, but whoever made this just tried to put the 6 squares of a 6x1 panorama into a cubemap, which is incorrect. There is no way to fix it.

      So i can safely overwrite it?
      The file "shinyglass_e.dds" is in the mod "Identity Crisis" but it's the same ( i extracted the file from the bsa).

      Here, I ran it through a panorama to cubemap converter (https://jaxry.github.io/panorama-to-cubemap/) and made a fixed map:

      I haven't tested in game yet, but should be safe to overwrite with the provided fix files. Providing instructions for those to come.

      • Download the fixed cubemap files (quickskydark_e.dds + Ravendark_e2.dds).
      • Create an empty mod in MO2.
      • Name the empty mod "The Sinister Seven - Cube Maps Fixed".
      • Right click the empty mod and select "Open in Explorer".
      • Create new folder named "textures" and open the folder.
      • Create new folder named "cubemaps" and open the folder.
      • Verify your folder structure looks something like: "X:\..\The Sinister Seven - Cube Maps Fixed\textures\cubemaps".
      • Place the fixed files (step 1) in the cubemaps folder (step 7).
      • Load "The Sinister Seven - Cube Maps Fixed" after "The Sinister Seven" and "Legacy of The Dragonborn - Cube Maps Fixed".
      • Activate "The Sinister Seven - Cube Maps Fixed".

      as the description says - when in the wrong format, the cubemap simply wont work.

      I didn't care to know what a cube map was til I read your comment. Now I feel like it's the most important thing I need to know right now! It's also after midnight and I'm crying laughing from your comment, so ya know!

    This is one of those cases where you should have just contacted us and asked if there was a reason they were edited and in which case I would have simply said "oops those were just working files for something and were not supposed to be left in, I'll remove them" you don't need yet Legacy patch to address it. These were clearly left in from LE and were never intended to be used for anything and just need to be purged.

      I briefly added you to this file's owners, but I figured you probably don't want the comment notifications 😅. All DP are being sent your way either way.

      The file overrides are actually breaking another mod, but since they are included in the bsa, is not easy for users to fix themselves. Let me know if you want remove this whenever, though I'd prefer if this is up until the update so it can be linked if necessary.

      well that's a nice gesture, though not really what I was getting at. But yeah it would just be best to leave this up until we update next and make sure to remove the vanilla assets from our BSA that were repacked accidentally from old or incompatible assets, then we can retire this.

      It doesn't hurt to have it uploaded though. LotD updates can take some time (understandably so), while this issue is currently present for anyone who don't use cubemaps replacers. Even if wSkeever contacted you before uploading, judging from your last reply, they may still end up uploading it since the next update isn't ready to be repacked yet.

    It seems these small get looked over\go by unnoticed. For example, many of the meshes for the new gems and crystals have buggy normals (using Nifskope and clicking Face Normals > Updated Tangent Space usually fixes it); they don't have normal maps assigned to them, and their textures aren't all a power of two. Not to mention that several of those gem textures are stocked photos with the watermark still visible when looking up close XD

    Anyway, thanks for this quick fix.
