There's some folks applauding the thickened waist of these armours, but to me, it just doesn't look right. Heavy armour is supposed to have thin waists, as that aids with weight distribution and mobility--otherwise, you wouldn't be able to move at the natural waist. Plate is designed to adhere to the shape of the wearer pretty precisely, so a waist that big in the armour should be because the person wearing it has a big waist, otherwise, the smith just didn't do as good a job as they could've.
That being said, the cuirass is also meant to:

    • End at the waist (roughly navel-height) but is instead shirt-length even in the base-game model, ending at the hips, which will severely impact that aforementioned mobility.
    • Dome at the front, as it creates a glancing surface to deflect arrows and lances, which sadly isn't what happened with the steel plate, as it's flat against the wearer's chest, which also isn't very good as that means that the wearer has to rely on video game logic in order to do the basic function of just breathing.

This is an extraordinarily insightful and well reasoned criticism of a mod some dude gave you for free. This is like complaining that the chef used too much nutmeg in the pancakes to be accurate to the culinary traditions of ancient Greece - while you're at a homeless shelter.

Thank you!!! I always thought there was something wrong with men in heavy armor and those tiny wasp-waists. Their midsection would have to be as small as their leg to fit into that, it made me cringe to look at it.
This will be a permanent item in the load order forever.

Happy to hear! The waists are what always bothered me as well.

Why make pauldrons, hip plates and legs smaller? I want my character too look bigger and intimidating. The male one honestly looks like he skips his legs day too often. Also it`s just lees interesting from design standpoint as it ruins the overall shape dynamic.

Really loving your reshaped armors. Just one thing tho, are there any chances we can get an update for shell texturing? like the mod below?

Yesss, I always thought vanilla steel looked like shit. For me, the cherry on top would be having sleeves aswell but if I just wanted the Steel reshape out of this could I just open in explorer and delete the other files? Thanks and sorry for the noob question. Recently switched over to PC since Bethesda's policy change

Fat and Tanky is a happy armor. :D
I'd love this for Practical Female Armors and Himbo.

Yeah, if you do the female armours, I'd love if you could base them on the practical female armor meshes
