"Werebears? Where? Bears? Men that are bears?"

What I have made for you here is a small mod that brings more werebears to your game, in a way you haven't already played a hundred times over. With this mod installed anyone (within reason), at any time, could become a werebear. You no longer have the luxury of scripted events and loads of preparation. By the time you realize what's happening you will have only a few seconds to decide what to do with an angry werebear.

I have constructed this atrocity with simplicity in mind with the use of po3's Spell Perk Item Distributor. SPID distributes a custom made spell I've created to all NON-UNIQUE NPC's in your load order at a rate of 1%. This will affect NPC's from the vanilla game along with any mod you have installed. Once a NPC is chosen, the spell activates a script that begins the process of forcing the NPC to transform into a werebear, and then subsequently go on a rampage. This process is invisible and silent until the transformation begins. When it happens, its meant to be a nasty surprise that you and whoever happens to be standing nearby is now forced to deal with.

The intended effect is always new, always random encounters that shape and change your billionth playthrough in a new direction. Important people could be killed during these encounters that you no longer have access to. A single bandit in a heavily occupied camp could be afflicted who then changes and wipes out all of his buddies while you watch. A patron of an inn with a horrible secret could be drinking his last mead at the bar with everyone else. You wont see these coming until it's too late.

This mod is meant as a companion mod to my previous installment, Scourge of the Werewolf, but will function perfectly without it if you so choose.

If you do not like the 1% distribution rate, it can easily be changed to your liking by editing the included "LycanthropicScourge(Werebears)_DISTR.ini" file found in your data folder. Open it in notepad and you will see this line:

Keyword = InfectedWerebear | ActorTypeNpc,-Courier | NONE | NONE | -U | NONE | 1

The 1 at the end of the line represents the percentage of distribution. Change this to whatever you want. 0.1 - 100. Save the file and enjoy your mayhem.

Lastly, there is a few things to keep in mind about how this mod works. Once you encounter a NPC that has been chosen, you will have roughly 40 seconds to one minute before the show starts.

- You may not always be within view of this NPC.
- It is possible you'll walk into town to see a slaughter in process or already over (especially if you use Open Cities).
- Load doors. If you encounter an NPC that is afflicted, and then leave the area through a load door, you will likely be walking into a pissed off werebear slaughter when you return. Load doors mess with the timer's accuracy slightly.
- OTHER NPC's WILL BE KILLED. You either have to roll with it in your playthrough or start resurrecting people. It's fun trust me.
- Couriers will never receive the disease as they tend to be essential and thus become unkillable werebear encounters.
- If you do not play with other mods that aim to increase the population of skyrim by adding non-unique "filler" type NPC's, you may have a very reduced amount of transformations. Vanilla skyrim's most abundant non-unique NPCs are guards and they will end up being the bulk of your transformations.

Please feel free to leave a comment to discuss any abnormalities or ideas you may have!
