This is working for me I'm using that alternate slot download from the files section. I've got a leather backpack mod that just barely clips with this but not bad enough for me to not use it. I'm using XPMSE with MCM so I was able to move the crossbow bolts to an alternate position just fine. The crossbows kinda clip with this but they clip with everything on the back.
Would be nice to have some alternate textures for this if anyone gets around to it. I like to think of the charm thing as the enchantment that makes the box add 100 carryweight kind of like a magic seal or something. All this needs is a little lock or door drawn on the right side to make it look like the box opens from the side, makes sense because you gonna grab stuff and smoosh it into the box from the right side anyway while looting.
Request and suggestion: A SMP-enabled padlock can be placed where the charm is positioned currently, and the charm can be moved to the top half of the box. It would also be nice if different charms can be equipped that can be enchanted to add their own special bonuses when the backbox is equipped.
I solved the backpack being invisible for me. I'm playing a male character. I had to open up the backpack project file in outfit studio, delete the female body and replace it with male body, export the nif and manually put it in the right folder. The backpack now showed up on my character in-game, but only while naked. If I equipped an armor it would go invisible again. (Not get unequipped which would happen if two slots clashed).
I opened up the nif again and deleted the male body, leaving the backpack alone and exported the nif again. Named it "AkaliBackpack_OS" and put it where it's supposed to be. Now it works. Could've probably skipped these steps if I knew what I was doing from the get go but now I have the backpack in game anyways. It slaps. Good job!
i haven't downloaded yet but honestly i really like this design irl which caused me to look up chests satchels and backpacks made of leather wood and metal for 30 minutes just because.
I use the custom Geralt race and it's not showing up at all with either version. :( The Traveller's Backpack that also uses HDT SMP however, works just fine.
More details would help me understand and diagnose this issue. Does the ground model show up? Does it simply not show up on the character? Will it show up if your character is otherwise completely naked? Does this affect both genders in game? Does this still apply in a modlist that only has the listed requirements and nothing else?
If the item is equipped, the meshes are built and exist on your physical disk as created by outfit studio, and they simply don't show up in game, a common mod conflict here would be Devious Devices' Devices Underneath functionality. That hides a large amount of non-vanilla slot items.
I've tried a barebones setup with just this mod enabled and the backpack shows up fine after building the meshes.
I then thought maybe it's a matter of changing the armor slot to one that doesn't conflict which I did and tested on my actual setup, but that still didn't work. The backpack equips, but it's just not visible.
In both instances, I tried on a male character btw. It's a shame because when it did show up, it looked really good.
@Cawtina: the AkaliBackpack_OS.nif seems to be "missing" (but using Akali Backpack Sliders.nif from the CalienteTools folder to replace the AkaliBackpack_OS.nif in the Clothing meshes folder do the trick - @kingmvndus).
This is my first time making a project using outfit studio. The reason the AkaliBackpack_OS.nif is missing is because it is being built by bodyslide, otherwise the file would simply be overwritten. I'm guessing, based on how you've phrased it, that most other outfits insert a default bodyslide build in their meshes folder to start with? Seems like a waste of download space if you have to rebuild it anyway, which is why I didn't include it in the first place.
Regardless, kingmvndus expressed that it does work in at least some instances, so they've cleared built it and that isn't the issue they're having. My best guess is there's a mod that have installed that is changing the armour they're using to also take up slot 52, or to hide slot 52.
SOS uses slot 52. But that should affect al lot of ppl. ^^
edit.: I switched the slot to 47. Now my character isnt naked anymore when equipping the backpack, but its still invisible. So ya, its both in a way (at least for SOS Users).
@kingmvndus Yes, switching the slot should do the trick for SOS Users. Before I switched, my (male) Character would not only get naked, but certain bodyparts would also disappear ( Iwould get aan underwear-shaped black hole ^^). Now, that I switched the slot, I can equip the backpack without getting naked, but it wont show up. I built the sliders in bodyslide, but still no luck.
Btw. on a female Character it also is invisible on equip. Groundmodel shows up normally in both cases.
I'm not quite sure what's causing the invisibility issue, sounds strange. The ground mesh is an entirely different .nif, so it showing up makes sense. The invisibility may simply be incorrectly re-assigning the slots in whatever program you're using. I might do some research into more adequate slots to use and upload a different slot version for SOS users.
EDIT: Okay, I've uploaded a new version that uses slot 48 instead of slot 52. I tested it briefly and it works fine for me, but unfortunately I don't have any other mods that use slot 52 or 48 to test it with easily as this point. Let me know if it works, if it's still invisible, etc.
I used xedit and I reassingn slots all the time (I have a convention for that, so I always know, which is where and for compatibility reasons). The invisibility thing might be me, messing it up in bodyslide (I use it seldomly and my knowlesge is surfice level at best - I never do refits for example ^^)
When changing the slot in CK or xEdit, did you also change the body slot associated with the partitions in outfit studio? I believe that needs to be done and must match the slot in the CK to show up properly. I changed mine to slot 60 since I'm using AllGUD, and made sure it matched on the partitions in outfit studio made the pack no longer invisible.
Can this safely be compacted in xedit and then marked as an esl with vortex? Xedit does let me compact it and that does allow vortex to show the option to mark as light but idk enough about all of this to know if it's safe to do so.

Like so many others, bummer :/
I think this would be perfect to be carried by Goblin ("Styx") or Riekling ("Redcap") follower.
