First off, thank you for all these texture patches to SkyTest, they're a relief to have.
I understand that this and the chicks patch both only require the meshes, though I'm not sure how the filepath works (obviously I have to download the complete mod to get the meshes, do I just leave the folder where it automatically loads to?). Mihail also has a combined mod with both the chickens and chicks together; can this be considered an alternative to downloading the two separate versions, or will that mess up the filepath?
Hi. The right filepaths (folders and subfolders) are already included in the original mod and in my patches. Both for meshes and textures. So, for my patches you only need to copy them to your Skyrim\Data folder. I hope this helps.
Awesome textures, as always! May I ask if you might know why the eyes aren't appearing on the rooster in my game? I've got lifeless eyes, black eyes, like doll's eyes:
Hmm... they eyes are in a separate block, they are missing or they are black? It looks like a wrong skeleton file. Did you installed the required file?
FWIW, I just finished troubleshooting the same issue and my case turned out to be due to Dynamic Animal Variants. I recently updated DAV and forgot to re-disable the chicken line in DynamicAnimalVariantsPlus_SWAP.ini. My chickens were correctly using Mihail's models and textures for their bodies, so I don't entirely understand why only the eyes went missing, but updating DAV's BOS logic resolved the issue.
Forgive me for my ignorance but I felt like I should ask: What of the original mod (Mihail's Chickens) would I be required to keep for this to function? Thanks in advance!
I'm really loving these replacers, thank you! I'm currently at the stage of building a mod list rather than actually modding and I'm a bit confused about the original SkyTest vs the 2022 Redux, am I right in understanding that these replacers are only for the original? If so, would you mind telling me why you choose the original over the Redux? The content/patches available for each seems to be really rather split so I'm a bit torn and confused. Thanks
Redux is a newer version with improved models and textures (it even includes some of my mods). My own main game is LE, so I still use the original version. For SE-AE I recommend you to go with the Redux version. This mod works for the two versions. So you are good to go.
